Normally I am just a watcher on this site but saw something this weekend in Tomball that made me want to ask the softball parents out there how they feel...
Second Inning, 14U game between TX Sting and Kaos, Sting pitcher had just 3 up 3 downed twice and coach comes on the field, throws his hat and screams at the girls how horrible they are and he can't believe it and other things I couldn't make out. He did it again in another game. What do the parents of the girls think about this? Is this considered acceptable behavior in the name of sports? This is not nationals, it is a local tourney.

Yes, I was watching from the sidelines and I was kinda embarrased for the girls. I have seen him in other tournys and always thought he was a good guy as well. Saw him do it twice. He is not the only one I have seen lose it but it seems to be such a common thing these days.

What ever................I watched him at the 14-U NIT(Humble) get beat then run to the UIC to attempt to Complain about an "Illegal "Player on the team that beat them.UIC asked the winning coach if Bert could see his Roster.
Winning Coach told Bert,UIC that to see the roster he would put his $ up cause he was going to lose it if he did. UIC thought it was funny as well . He(Bert) went away. I have heard (not seen) other stories similar to this, so if it was him it would not be that shocking to me.
BTW No illegal players.

If that were my kid, I would quietly take him aside and explain in a calm tone to never speak to my child that way again unless he would like to see the heel of my shoe in his backside.

Sorry, my kid is not on Kaos. No tricks, just wanted to ask the question to the parents out there. I have seen my share of coach meltdowns as I have stated. I don't see many postings about it on here so I'm just wondering if that is accepted in some kid sports. Have a kid in football and have never seen anything like that from the coaches on the field...key phrase there is on the field.

Yeah, in football the coach has the luxury of hiding his meltdown in the locker room at halftime or after the game. Softball coaches don't have that luxury.

Come on Skip. Of course it's not accepted. Surely you don't think any of us would come on here and support the berating of children. You wanted to take a shot at Bert. I think most of us will support that.

REALLY, I didn't say the name first just coach of the Kaos. There are what, 5 Kaos teams so not trying to out anybody. I have seen it so often I am wondering if it is the norm these days like umps having to have body guards and nutjob parents on youtube
