by thebatcage » Fri Apr 09, 2010 1:34 pm

We are opening a new pitching and hitting training facility in Carrollton, Texas and we are interested in your thoughts.

What would you like to see/have in a new facility that others do not offer:

What would do you dislike about other training facilities:

Please let me know.

Thank you,
Howard

I would like to see one that avoids shameless plugs on gossip websites.

Pretty damn funny. Where is this place going to be or phone number? Go ahead and plug! My niece comes over to Plano to work out. They would prefer to stay in town.

It would be a shameless plug if it was an advertisment. We are NOT in business yet, therefore no business name or phone number.

We are planning on opening in the next few months in Carrollton TX.

if i'm bringing teams, i like places that arent all full length tunnels. too much standing around.

carve one up into stalls for t work, have an area big enough to move around in and roll some grounders or maybe another small one with some agility ladders or just patterns painted on the floor. hang a heavy bag or 2 for people to whack.

depends on the space you have but something like that makes it easier to keep everybody busy.

and if you're gonna work pitchers, paint the plates, distances, and the power line in the tunnels.

For those that spend a lot of time in the cages or in areas where the weather isn't great, being able to pay a flat fee and work out once a week or twice a week is a great thing. We have done that with my DD. I at least know that even with rain, sleet and snow, she can get in some solid hitting each week. Options at our cage include monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual memberships - with something like a silver, gold and platinum package (not sure what they are actually called) - allowing for increasing amounts of time per week. Still cheaper than paying for individual tunnel time, but seems to work our direction. Just a thought.

My son's team pays a monthly fee to be able to hit once a week as well. So you might offer a team plan for the local select softball and baseball teams.

OH, and take credit cards. Ours here early didn't and once he did, traffic improved. At least that seemed to be the issue.

NO baseball for starters. (I know I 'm dreaming)

after that the things mstreet mentioned are all good points

and how about an area where the the little siblings can all go to play vs running all over playing swashbuckler sword fights with their old sis's high dollar bats.
