Parents need a Reality Check

I saw a post on VTD where a parent or Coach was bragging about his 5th & 6th grader 12u team getting 4th in a 14u tourn. The guy had to pick up a pitcher and several other older girls to field the event. The funny thing is that this person gives a "Look Out 12u This team is comin with a full head of steam!!!" The very same team is playing in a 12u next week and needs a pitcher???? How could that be if they were so bad to the bone in a recent 14u. Parents need to get real. Praise is good for DD's but this false sense of acheivement is what makes future whiners.

I must be confused!
I am the one who is pointing out that parents need to give their DD true praise. Are you thinking that your DD will benefit from sitting the bench or playing rt field while Pick Up players come in and play the key positions. What does your DD do next time when the Pick Ups are not there. If I gave this BS to my kid she would call BS on Me. She knows better. I just think its funny. Specially since the team that was so good in the 14u event can't even field a full roster in their own age group and is seeking a pitcher. Not Whining. Simply Laughing at their Great Outing in the 14U. We will get to play this team soon. We'll sure be Looking Out for them!!! LOL!!!!! Maybe the VTD post should read "Thanks to some Older girls our young 5th & 6th graders got to see what the big kids do!"

My Honor Student can still beat the crap out of your kid!!!!!!
Cause I don't build her up with a bunch of empty praise!!!! She works hard and knows how to fight on her own. If She gets beat, She works on the issues that she had and goes back for vengense. If she wins from someone laying down and sucking. She knows that she needs to go find better battles to fight. That's why we left rec. So if you take pride in playing teams that have no skills and tell your kid that "You really Played Great", remember they will meet my kid some day and get their teeth handed to them!!!

Now. I have said my peice and will move on to some other thread that adds value to the thought.
