I think they are looking quality over quantity.

I think that is a pretty arrogant comment when the season has not even really started....I would think that there is quite a bit of Quality in that field of teams! Not much on the line playing a round robin against a couple of good teams?

Not much on the line playing in the Bomber either, I am pretty sure that the Bomber Tourney isn't even in the top 5 tourneys that the top teams even care about. I am pretty sure that Glory, Redhots, and other TOP teams will get more out of playing each other over and over, than playing in a 50 team tourney where MAYBE A HANDFUL will pose a challenge. Getting ready for a run at a National Championship will be the TOP teams #1 priority. I do wish your team well at the Bomber and hope you can win the BIG 50 team tourney, that would be SWEEEET :D :D :D

These are 12 of the best teams in the state :) :) :) You can't tell me any of these teams would find better competition at the Bomber. Granted, the Bomber has 40+ teams, but it will not benefit any of these teams to play some of the 1st year 12's on that list. You have to look at the big picture and start getting your team used to playing the best competition in the state. Just so happens most of the competiton is in the Houston area.

Well There you go again crowing the 12 Best teams in the State before a game is played in the 2010 Season? Negotiating a bracket with this many teams is very Valuable in the big picture! It is the Largest Tournament of the year in the State! This is valuable in the "Grand Scheme" in preparing your team for Nationals , most teams falter at Nationals because they are not prepared well enough to win Multiple games in that large format! Also taking advantage of gathering teams from all corners of the State is unique and provides your players something different....They can play a round robin against YOUR list of the 11 BEST teams in the state just about any time! Take Care my friend and good luck to you and your team this year!

i can understand quality over quantity. i would rather see my dd in alot harder tour. with the strongest teams in texas, but there needs to be a couple of large tour. with 40 plus teams where you need to see if your teams has what it takes to lose there first bracket game and come back and win 10 games back to back. my dd has had her best games againist teams like hv97 but come back and lose to a weak 98 team, i know this has happen to everybody. last year at the bombers a saw alot upset like that. that is what makes a great team being able to win against the tough teams and also making threw 10 games in a row to win the tour.

anyway storm elite is having a invitational tour. 2 weeks before this one.

Texas Storm Elite 97 Invitational is March 5-7. Confirmed Team List so far is as follows:

Tx Red Hots - confirmed
Tx High Voltage - confirmed
Austin's Finest - confirmed
Austin Stars (Constancia) - confirmed
Tx Ice - confirmed
Texas Sting (McKinney)-confirmed
Tx Rattlers-confirmed
TPS - confirmed

In the Grand Scheme of preparing for Nationals how many Texas Teams have won an ASA National Championship after playing in the Bomber? If you are going to make the argument you should have a list of "ASA" National Championship Texas Teams.

The Invitational is a Quality Round Robin with some teams that challange each other.

California teams play "Friendlies" (Round Robins) all season long. California teams have won many ASA National Championships. This makes a strong argument that Quality Round Robins are a good way to prepare for ASA Nationals.

Everyone wants to be successful and everyone has a different approach.

The Bomber has 49 Teams. That sounds like a successful tournament to me.

Merlin , that may be one of the funnier analogies....The answer to your Question of how many teams have won an ASA National Championship after playing the Bomber is 0! But then you could say EVERY other Tournament has no value to winning Nationals! Because there have only been (2) Teams from the State of Texas that have won a Class A National Championship in ASA...in the History of the SPORT!

Its all good either way , If a team plays in the Bomber or stays and plays a Ten team friendly! My problem is the gentleman making the case that ALL the good teams would be in the friendly and that everyone else is really wasting their time? Decide it on the field and dont get on here making claims that the 12 Best teams are in Houston...Whatever!

Again Good Luck to Everyone out there!
