Any updates on 14U player movement, shakeups, tryouts?

by chiquito » Fri Jan 08, 2010 9:02 pm

I am amused at all the movement amongst the so called "elite players" in the first year 14U age group. And for those teams who will be selling their souls to bring them on, this will be short lived as these players will be selling their goods to 16U teams next year and gasp, some even to 18U teams. Bon apetite, eventually, we will be looking at only a 16-18U age group only in the near future no matter what age you are.

NO WAY ZIGGY!!!!! You are right about a lot of things Zig, but you are wrong about this prediction. The team with Roscoe P Coltrane will be a middle of the road team at best.

I know who Roscoe is. We used to be on the same team. That should leave that open as there are quite a few ex-RPC players that are now not ex-RPC players which I am shocked at because of the way that guy (or woman, maybe the manager had something to do with it??) broke that team up after Nationals. I guess some people just don't have any other place they can play?? I hope the same thing does not happen for them that happened to the team this past summer.

As for the other part of your quote, that is in really bad taste to call a person fat. Do you not have any flaws?? I bet you have at least one, maybe two huh???? Just wasn't very nice that's all I'm saying and I used to have more respect for you before that..

And BTW Zig, where is your DD playing this spring? Probably for a different team again.. How many teams have you and her been a part of in the 8 or 9 years she has been playing softball? I can count five or six. That's almost one per year and probably really is if you do not count Jr. and Sr. pixie when most people are playing league ball!!

Last but not least, I say all this not under a hidden chicken screen name, so let the beat down begin!!! I am used to it.

I did not mean to offend anyone with that comment. I was referring to the comment you made about not liking BBUSA when you complained about them making a fat guy (You) walk to far for cheese Nachos. I don't know you well other than HB and thats just 1 of 2 things that you said on here that stick in my mind for some reason.

BTW. I have your 95 team in my top 5. I referenced the other Pearland as a team to watch as far as shake ups go in the title of the thread.

Cool, I remember that comment and was only trying to take up for my friend if you were not directing it at me.

As much as I hate to, I feel compelled to post a reply to this. First of all I would like to state that my daughter and I are very excited about being back with the Bandits. We feel we have a great group of girls and parents and are looking forward to building somthing special. I owe Zig a reply because she (or he...who the He!! knows) asked in a PM if we were staying with the Aces. At the time I was sure we were but things changed and we left. I wish the Thunder/Aces all the luck and have respect for both organizations. The 3 teams that we have been associated with includes the Bandits, Aces and Thunder and they are all class acts!

As far as the comments about Sonny breaking up the team, nothing could be further from the truth. Sonny made it perfectly clear that he needed a break after nationals. He had gone through quite an ordeal with some health issues and needed a break. Everyone knew this at least a month before the Nationals. As a matter of fact there were people scouting our players during Nationals because it was public knowledge. I know Sonny and he will not come on this forum and get involved with this public display of dirty laundry and to this I applaud him. I just felt that there are 2 sides to every story and felt compelled to share a different view. I think the fact that several of the players from last years team have returned speaks volumes. I expect this team to be just as competitive as the Bandits of the past.

One other thing. Please keep in mind, when you are calling out teams and calling them "middle of the road" you are referring to kids and parents. Not sure how anyone can make this call when they have no idea who is on the team.

And that my freinds is the rest of the story. Good luck to everyone and we will see you at the fields.

Wow, I am up to 7 posts now. Does this make me a heybucket addict . I sure as he!! hope not.

Roscoe, not calling out teams, or girls or parents, just my opinion as I do not agree with Zigs prediction. Unlike most other posters on here I haven't learned to use another screen name to give my opinion so everybody knows who is saying it. Was not being disrespectful, just stating an opinion and you know what they say about opinions?? In fact, I (or Zig) did not even state a team name nor did I use anybody's name in particular, you did. ;) It is what it is..

With the statement of RPC saying that Zig PM him, I would say that Zig does not have a DD young enough to play.Which tips the scales more toward a coach :o :o
As for the players..well, good luck to all
