Texas City Metro Tourneys What Teams Made it 16u. 14u, 12u

And by the way, We, Texas Fusion, finished in the Top 8 of the HOF Qualifier, and the top 6 of the National qualifier. We chose as a team to not play regional as our Head Coach was getting married that weekend. At HOF qualifier, our 2 losses were to TPS and Glory(Naudin)! At the National Qualifier, we lost one to Sneaky Cleats, and Glory(Naudin). Our 2 losses to Naudin, we were ahead at various points, and I'm sure they would agree they were very close on the field as well as on the scoreboard!

Also fpfan, during the course of those tourneys mentioned above, we beat 3 of those top 5 finishers in the state! I really don't see where your argument has a leg to stand on! I also know Glory(Adkins) has some victories over a couple of the top state teams as well!

Yeah, got to give props to Fusion. always in the hunt! the teams mentioned above are good.

Lefty, Peppers have always gone metro. The Hawks went to state last yr.

For the record the 16-U Hawks of this yr. are NOT the same as the 14-U from last yr. Only the name not a single coach or player from that 14U team..

Rage and Blaze are returning teams....Fury is somewhat of a surprise, but then again....Storm finished 4th.....so that's not saying much. I would have thought maybe Mean Green or Sting would have been there in the mix.

The only REAL joke of a Metro is the San Antonio. Last years 16u Bombers team had to beat.....ummmm...no one to get their bid.The year before....Bombers had to beat the San Antonio Royals in a 3 game series. Not saying the Bomber Teams don't deserve it.....it's not their fault. They're just lucky to living close enough to that Metro. Anyone in their right mind would sign up for that Metro knowing you'd only have to maybe beat one team to go to ASA Nationals. ASA uses the # of ASA registered teams to assign bids to Metros. That includes Men's and Women's Slow & Fastpitch teams signed up in that area. ASA needs to also require a certain amount of teams per age group.

Question.....how would the Metros have looked if Regionals was held AFTER Metros like previous years?

Is it possible Sting, Mean Green and other quality teams at State were worn down after 4 straight weeks of trying to qualify for Nationals? Sting earned a HOF bid, so they still have a shot.

And for all ....it is what it is. If you are a good team and you make Nationals....you'll be fine. If you got lucky on a bid and suck.....you'll still suck (that's what she said). Good Teams and deserving teams find a way to get the job done. This is like the NCAA leaving off the 8th best ACC team or the 6th best Big 12 team for their play-offs.......who cares. The good teams find their way in. You'll have some undeserving teams get in......but that is sports. I'm sure the team from Maine would probably be middle of the pack if not worse if it played in Texas......but they get to play in the Maine State tournament not the Texas.

Not sure which teams that played at State you're calling "Elite", I've seen most of those top 5 teams play this year and I don't think all can really be called "Elite".
That being said the DFW metros I think should be combined and then they can give out two berths. The Houston Metro top two teams did great and although they may think different, I think they proved they both are "Elite".

fastpitchfan...You said that "State" teams can't decide to play in a Metro but that's not exactly true. The Peppers used to play in the State tournament and I believe they moved to Metro last year. I could be wrong but my understanding is that once the team moves from state to metro they have to play Metro each year thereafter (or something like that).

Texas Elite club teams you dipstick ! The process is flawed. 38 teams in regional =2 berths ,32 teams in Qualifier =1 berth. 4 teams in Metro =1 berth. Duh. The rural teams cannot join the Metro division but the Metros can defect and go State. You have to be one or the other, but metros have an option.

Heard the bracket at State was a little crazy. Sting had to play 2 bracket games Friday nite , 7 and 10:30. And was told Mean Green's 10:30 game didn't begin until midnite do to ITB and a injury in previous game!! Noticed on the finished bracket that the team MG played @ 10:00 Sat. didn't have a Friday game. LOL luck of the draw.
