It's little girl softball, not a Jerry Springer episode. Foul balls are expected, foul mouths are not. How many times do parents have to be tossed by officials before it clicks? If you sit with 95 Glory and you relish in loud-mouthed antics of your peers, even if you don't spout off yourself, you are guilty of the dumbing-down of sport.

If you feel wronged, like some great injustice has befallen you, I suggest you look in the mirror and ask, "Would my boss, lover, parent, kid, pet... understand this rage?" Ask yourself, "Am I really the smartest person out here?" Ask yourself, "Is this about my kid, or is it really about me?"

The answer is simple: It's about you, you just happen to have a kid with a ball glove and some modicum of talent. That tiny bit of talent is going to be squashed instead of developed with baffoonish antics in the bleachers if you don't become your brother's keeper.

If you allow loud-mouthed "victims in the stands" to bloviate, you are as guilty as they.

I saw a pick-up player's dad gather his daughters gear and leave the 95 Glory spectacle on 5/11/08. THAT showed character, a sense of responsibility for game, and measured concern for the future of his daughter's athletic career.

Required viewing for all the 95 Glory parents should be the Will Farrell movie Kicking and Screaming. It shows just how well the single-minded of purpose approach to kids sports plays out.

No, this is about the parents. They spend a little time and money and think their kid is heading for a Division I full boat scholarship on their way to Olympic fame. Good luck with all that. I'm sure plenty of social retards- that live on McNuggets and have no friends except the one's lucky enough to make it on a team roster decided by ill-equipped megalomaniacs- make it in the real world.

Yes, tacky is learned. Excellence, honor, and love of the game is too. Build 'em up...don't tear 'em down with bleacher antics.

The next logical question is... what are they going to do about it? I would think that the head of the organization would address this, especially with antics being reported nationwide. There are reputable Glory teams. Is he going to let the few speak for the many?

This has been going on for quite some time. I don't think what happened this past Sunday in Keller is going to change anything. This organization is based on win loss record, period.

Regardless of what you think about some of their coaches/parents/etc., some of the classiest softball people in North Texas are a part of the Glory organization. I'll bet you Kevin Shelton has never even been on this website and there's a good chance he doesn't even know it exists. Should this type of conduct ever start to taint the reputations of the Texas Glory Gold or the 16u Texas Glory (Naudin), and you bet this comes to an end in a hurry.

Then he should know. I know nothing about Glory 16u but I do know what I saw and what I heard this past weekend. I also know I had heard things like this about Glory Flannigan before, but hadn't personally been exposed. My DD was also a first time observer. As a 12 year old, she was excited to watch the two teams play. After the antics of the parents, and a couple of the glory girls as well, she was completely dissappointed in all of them. She was however, impressed with the pick up catcher, that walked away. It is sad that my 12 year old DD can see character in another child, but not the adults. All I can say is if the big guy doesn't know by now what goes on with this team, I'm surprised. Regardless, someone should let him in on it if he is concerned about the reputation of the entire organization. JMHO

First let me start by saying i do not think everyone in the glory organization are classless. But, you do know the old saying "one bad apple, will ruin the whole bunch". What did you mean by "bet this comes to an end in a hurry"? This format or the antics of this younger team?

I agree with you on the first part. I have Glory friends and have watched all ages, except the young ones- 10 or under. There are several I know personally that contribute to the softball community and want nothing but the best for ALL girls.

But your quote above is arrogant. Why wouldn't he care if the younger ages were "tainted". There are several 16/18 teams with Glory, yet you only mention 2? The team in question is just 2-4 years away from being 16U/Gold and they very publicly represent Glory at every major tournament in north Texas and in the nation. He should know and he should act, privately.

This needs to "come to an end in a hurry" for ALL his teams before it affects the rest. JMO
