Scott, you're right. No sooner than you posted your comment that scumbag called me and asked if I would pay his share and he would give me some of his food stamps as an IOU. You know old Joe-always quick to spend someone else's money!

I told him not to worry about it because "amazing" would never take us up on our offer. "Amazing" won't say anything. Any excuse "amazing" has the Donkeys can answer. Need a pitcher? We'll get you one. Not enough players? We'll give you some of ours. Too cold? I'll bring the heater. Too far? Joe will pick you up in a clown car. Your team plays 16U? We'll move up. If anyone else has the same questions, the Donkeys have the same answers!

Ok dirt bag! Were in. If I can sell a few hogs and get my truck fixed in the next few weeks we is bringin our girls down there. I always enjoy beatin up you Texas teams  anyway. Oh buy the way, donkey is my favorite thankgiving meal. Moms sharpinin the knife now!!!

Just a response to Amazing comment. There were no strip searches during the nationals. Everyone knew from the beginning when you sign up for a tournament at Big League dreams that you are not allowed to bring outside food or drink into the park save bottle water.

Response to dueceduece. I have tried to get MGSA to hold VTD tournaments at McKnight park. I offered the 14U nationals to MGSA and they turned us down. People could have brought outside food and drink into the park if MGSA would have agreed to hold the VTD nationals there. I would gladly quit trying make tournaments happen at Big League dreams if MGSA would start holding VTD tournaments.

On another note, I hope this December 11-12 tournament makes. I know new things are a hard sell to the fast pitch crowd but if we let this opportunity pass I do not think Big League Dreams will continue to have interest in fast pitch coming there. Big League Dreams could be one of the best places to play in the Metroplex. BLD is the only place in the Metroplex where families can go and enjoy watching their daughters play ball in a air conditioned environment. Yes you do have to pay a gate fee of 3.00 per adult. Yes players do have to pay a dollar to get in but are given that dollar back in a token to spend at the snack bar. What most people do not know is 13 and under are free to get in the park. No you can not bring in outside food or drink. Yes it does have to do with money but that is not the reason BLD stopped allowing food or drink into the park. As everyone knows BLD predominantly caters to adult slow pitch. They had an incident where one team was threatening another team with violence. The threatening team was vowing to bring guns and knives to kill the other team. BLD had to take precautions to ensure the safety of others entering the park. They implemented the bag searches and begin to find that people were bringing in food and drink and alcohol. BLD realized they were loosing revenue. BLD is a private business. They do not build parks like BLD for free. BLD is providing a class A facility to play ball in. That is not free.

As a independent tournament director BLD is the best place for me to run a tournament. I do not have city backing or volunteers who may or may not show up to help me run a tournament. I pay to make sure that the best possible service is provided to teams coming to play tournaments. I pay for peace of mind as a tournament director. Yes I am in this to make money. Everyone who provides a service and does not take money from tax payers is in it make money. I know there are some who think every thing to do with softball should be free but that is not the way the softball world works. It cost money period to have nice places to play at whether it is a private business or a city run park. The city's take money fro the tax payers to pay for these parks.

I hope to see you and your team out at BLD on December 11-12.
The cost is 375.00 a team
3 GG
2 pools to a single elimination
Age divisions 12, 14, 16, 18
The money prizes are offered based on 18 teams per age division
1000.00 first
500.00 second
150.00 third
It is listed on VTD as the 1ST ANNUAL TOY FOR TOTS CLASSIC
We are collecting toys for needy children.

Thanks

To Larry the Leech...

Mansfield ain't hookin' up with you because the man from Austin is married to the G-man from FW. Until that changes...Mansfield will be a ASA homer 'til the cows come home.

...and as for you..."an independent TD" ? Puleeeze...Last time I checked you were VTD's new bro'man... ready and willing... with a whole new set of rules and regs...just like your ani counterpart in FW Metro.

While I thought FWASA did a fantastic job of screwing up DFW softball...you and yours are on your way to a new low in DFW softball. Your "playing for the money" tournament is a disgrace and a slap in the face to the premise of amateur sports. Wouldn't it be a novel idea to play for the "fun of it"?

The reason there was "an incident" at the BLD is because... when you have adult league softball...you have booze !!! Mixing youth sports with THAT...makes you a moron!

BLD is privately owned and is the one really saying..."show me the money". Mansfield GSA and all the other non-profits should "see the money" before BLD does.

BTW...December is basketball season.

Hoofless Joe

Yeah Scott, what are you doing out there anyway? Save for 98 Fusion, there is NOTHING out in McKinney that weekend. Sure you get 5 games...but against who? Legend?

I fear the donkey. Besides, with my 95 catcher, I would have to play 16U and there are only 2 teams signed. Plus, McKinney is closer to my house and everyone knows I hate the cold. Finally, I have this one dad who likes to sleep in on Saturday and show up at game time. He said that's how the big time people in Frisco do it.

16U teams will probably be absorbed to 18U with a bigger game guarantee if 16Us do not make

To Larry 111,

I don't believe I was asking you to host at McKnight I was just letting people know that there was a Charitable Tournament for much less money than you are offering. That has been around for sometime now. My older daughter has played in in several years.

As for Joe, I don't know the politics of Mansfield GSA so I won't argue that point with you. I will however agree with you on your other comments. To me VTD is turning into exactly what I thought it would. People in it for themselves and not the girls. I DON"T want to put all VTD in that catagory because I know that there are a majority that are in it for the right reasons. But just like with ASA there are those that ruin it for others. Unfortunately it only takes one or two to do it.

C'mon brother...This Larry Yeast (infection) fella is a knucklehead, but he ain't no G-man from FW Metro. VTD hasn't turned into anything yet...but it's at least a fresh reprieve from the good old boy system courtesy of FWASA and Co.

And LMAO about these two now famous quotes from Danny..."VTD is turning into what I thought it would" (said before it even got off the ground) and then this..."the majority are in it for the right reason". Which one is it Danny? Failure at the start... OR... most are doing it the right way. Hmmmmm....?

Of course we can all depend on your unbiased opinion on this.... right? Or is it that you're just like Austin, G-man, and some others...a hopeless ASA homer.

Very disappointing post from VTD's own staffer...

...and I might add a new twist with a mix of charitable giving AND "put some money in your pocket"...? No fan of FWASA, but in this case...the charity tourney down the street at Mansfield GSA is the only choice...

...and then this from his previous post?

Title: BLD Tournament is a Toys for tots and money tournament
Approved By: Larry Weast

The tournament at BLD is a toy drive for needy children but I have also tried to offer an incentive to teams to come and win team money to get the 2011 season off to a good start.

Competition is fierce for tournaments to make at the end of the year. Garland, McKinney and Hillsboro are holding a great tournament the same weekend as this tournament. These places are great places to play. These places have always put on great tournaments and probably always will. What I am about to say is not a slam on these other facilities because I think that most of the facilities around the Metroplex are top of the line. They have great people who volunteer and provide good quality tournaments.

Now with that being said, if you have not ever played at BLD you should seriously consider it. There is no better facility in the state than BLD. While other facilities are great and run great tournaments they still can not provide 2 climate controlled Stadium Clubs with 12 sixty inch High Definition TV's in each stadium club with the latest sports on. All 8 fields are viewable from inside the climate controlled stadium clubs. They can not offer Restaurant quality food and comfortable chairs to enjoy that food in. While other facilities have a great group of people who help maintain the fields during tournament play they still are not able to re chalk fields after every game. These other facilities do keep a well maintained playing field during a tournament but are not able to keep that fresh not played on look after every game. BLD has a full time maintenance crew that takes care of all that during tournament play. If you choose to set outside and watch the games BLD can comfortably seat 250 people at each field in their stadium seating. The outfields of every field has the same turf grass as the ballpark in Arlington.

I encourage ever team to come and play at this facility and enjoy all it has to offer.

Thanks
Larry Weast

Any idea why a team close to Mansfield would drive all the way to McKinney and pay $50 more to play that same weekend? There are a few doing so and I was just wondering if there is something special going on in McKinney that weekend? Just doesn't make sense when you've got a cheaper tournament in your own backyard even if they don't stand a chance at winning any money.

I just wanted to apologize for calling any teams out. Looks like they had the right idea all along.

Me too :!: ...for calling out the Leastman. Times are tough and even those who don't have a clue deserve a little extra coin for a new iphone....for Christmas.
