Your name explains a lot!!

There is a place for every level of softball and every level of softball player. Now I do think that Bigtime was over reacting a bit, controlling the weather is a tough thing to do and USFA tries to put on a good tournament for a whole lot of girls and that is an admirable thing. Now before you go off on me Mr. Ugly, my DD has played ASA for the last four years, her team actually qualifire for both ASA and PGF ths summer so I am not someone you can intimidate by throwing your associations around. In the younger years her teams played USFA and it was a great experience. The folks in Panama City do a great job of putting a great tournament together in a fun place to be in July. If it is not up to your standards so be it, don't go, but there is no reason to bash on teams that feel that it is the right place for them to be. Not every team qualifies for ASA or PGF, and not every girl gets on a team that qualifies. Those teams and those girls are just as important as mine and yours and they need a place to play.

Did I not say at the end of my paragraph that every girl needs a place to play. I agree that USFA has a nice thing in panama city if your wanting to play some softball and vacation. But, when the ball hits the dirt and the serious ball players are on the field. We are then talking ASA or PGF, correct? I mean I do not see teams pasting on their websites that they qualified for IFA, USFA... All I am saying is you sometimes get what you pay for, it was USFA and more of a vacation..

Most of the teams and girls that play in PGF and ASA tourneys, are playing in VTD tourneys - at least in the Metroplex.

The PGF and ASA qualifiers may have a few more top level teams overall, but that's just because they are qualifers. I haven't seen the PGF "open" tourneys, only qualifiers, but the ASA "open" tourneys are not any better quality than VTD's. And, ASA is still having a hard time getting a lot of their tourneys to make.

There are just more beginning/ starter teams within VTD, because they still have the most user friendly way to sign up, get in a tournament with lots of teams, and know who is playing them.

I have no problems with girls playing ball. But when you go watch a VTD "open" tournament as to a PGF or ASA tournament the quality of ball being played is completely different thats all I am saying...

If it says "open" now days that is just short for "B"... As far as I know if anyone is playing ASA or PGF qualifiers then going to play VTD qualifiers they are trying to find where they fit in. I have seen one VTD qualifier where any big dawgs signed up for and that was Mckinney and guess what they did. They ran thru the winners bracket scoring 26 runs and giving up 1..(Foutch) scored 32 and gave up 5... Coincidence, not really. Look at how Foutch faired at the last PGF qualifier. I am not on the glory band wagon, but I can honestly say if that was an ASA or PGF qualifier he would not have scored that many and probably would have given up more than 1 run. The talent level just is not the same as asa or pgf... face it homers...

First off, I'm a little perturbed at you cause in another thread, you called someone else Pancho! I thought I was the only Pancho in your life! Now just as I occasionally agree with something you post, I will have to agree somewhat with what Ugly posted above! As far as the overall talent level at the VTD, ASA, PGF level, the VTD level lags behind! A cursory glance at the points leaders in all age groups of VTD bears this out. So his response to the poster who said that the higher level teams are playing those tourneys regularly, was correct! By and large, they don't! Now I am glad VTD is there, as well as usfa, afa, etc. In fact, one of our best trips ever was as a pick-up player for a team going to panama city! as well as it afforded us the opportunity to develop her game to reach the levels she wanted to reach! Back to the subject of Tarps: I have one question. Where do you think all this water that is sitting on top of the fields is going to go once they remove them? Pretty sure they don't have drainage like MLB parks. I am not sure you truly understand just how expensive tarps are. I know many teams are upset. I would be as well. However, I would have only been upset with the weather. It is a chance we all take when we travel

First and foremost, you have to understand...there's only one Pancho on HB...and that would be you. Now and then, in a hurry, I will abbreviate and address you simply as Pancho, but let there not be any doubt that Pancho55 is who I'm talking to and about. Now...on the flip side...there are some generic Panchos out there and they'll need to be addressed as such.
