I did, so did the people in front of me. Both were told, they were only selling weekend passes. This was at about 11:30 Saturday!

Would have liked less back and forth but that may have required a serious phd in scheduling like the military has in their large scale operations. I suppose under ASA policy they did not want two pools producing their own bids, they wanted all teams theoretically interacting with each other in the bracket.

Each facility has their own water rules. I would prefer a $5 gate fee per day and free entry of coolers over no coolers because in hot weather our players were going through 2 drinks per game each.

Overall umpiring was solid. Thanks Dave Devine

Umpiring was 1000 times better in Dallas than Houston the last 2 weeks. Houston really needs to bring in some better blues for these Gold Qualifiers.. JMO

Thanks so much, I have a great staff at Dallas ASA that makes this overwhelming task a lot easier. Our UIC Steve McCown, which umpires fastpitch on the highest level including the College World Series, is responsible for scheduling our umpires. Steve brings out the most experienced and professional umpires that he can find. The umpires came from all over Texas and Oklahoma, we also had one from Florida to do this event.. This week ASA has "Advanced Umpiring School" in Waxahachie Texas and they are going to be doing the Regionals, it will be umpired great also.

Phil Tripp the Dallas ASA JO Deputy Commissioner was responsible for that great scheduling!! Out of 95 teams scheduled, we only had 5 teams that had to travel between the two parks the same day. When the teams had to travel we made sure it was at the end of the day and gave those teams plenty of time to warm up after they showed up at the park. Phil also done a great job getting the fields ready after the two rain delays on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.

Carla Cash the Dallas ASA slow pitch UIC was our Kiest Park assistant Tournament Director was a huge in pulling this type of tournament off.

Greg Light the developer of tournamentasa.com came in from Kansas City to keep the site and the brackets updated and help coaches and fans with technical questions.

Jackie Schultz one of Dallas ASA newest UIC and a Big 12 umpire, was the Kiest Park's UIC and did a great job.

Besides all theses key people we had many people working at the fields and behind the scenes that was very professional including umpires, score keepers, field crews, gate people etc..It takes a army!!

There was a few hiccups that we need to work on including the 1 day passes. We were inconsistent with those and I apologize for the inconvenience. We also had parking issues at the coaches meeting at the Hilton Anatole, the attendant charged full price for awhile until we stopped her..Overall we were extremely satisfied with the tournament

Congratulations to the teams that received their berth to ASA Gold Nationals in Oklahoma City and look forward to seeing all the teams again.

Mr. Devine,

Your leadership and class are exemplified by the thanks that you give to those who helped you runs this tournament. No event of this size is a one person show. We appreciate the time and effort of everyone involved. It is also a testament that you take complaints and channel them into areas for future improvement. Thank you so much.
