I completely agree. Our team was told that bracket play would not start until Saturday morning. After we drew a 7:00pm Friday night bracket game I contacted the Commissioner and I was informed that per "ASA Code" that there was nothing that can be changed (not even the game times) so our team had to withdraw. I received an updated bracket last night that showed they did change game times!! What happened to the ASA Code?? It is hard to imagine that you would change the format the week of the tournament and not accomadate ALL teams with 3+ hour drive and girls that were still in school Friday. Total mis-management by the GHYSA.

I looked on the vtd under tournaments and don't see brackets. Would it be somewhere else on vtd?

Why does VTD have it listed as 4 gg? Was it ever a 4 gg? I thought you had to sign up and pay extra for the pool games that never happened.

Brackets are on the Houston ASA page under youth, 14U class A national qualifier, tournament brackets.

It was only a 4 gg if you requested two pool games. You had the option of requesting 0, 1, or 2 pool games (which probably helped lead to the scheduling nightmare) at an umpire cost of $25 per game. These were supposed to be played Friday night / Saturday morning.

What the Houston Commish told me was that he "anticipated" several teams dropping so he gave up 2 extra fields in Kingwood that he had reserved for the Tournament (I'm not sure why he would do this since you can't "anticipate" teams dropping - especially for a qualifier). We (Texas Blaze) had to drop the Tournament because we could not get our entire team from the Austin area to Humble in time to warm-up for a 7pm Friday bracket game. The only option we were offered was to play at 7pm on Friday or drop. I'm glad that Double T could get their game time changed - I only wish we we offered that same option.

This has been a cluster **** since the inception. Was also told there would be games Friday. We have a 4.5 hour drive, 6 players still in school , hmmmm do the math !! Was also told couldn't make any concessions and we would have to drop if we couldn't make it Friday. Also was told to let him know asap as there was a waiting list because he had to cut off the field. My gripe is that it is hard enough to qualify for Nationals and now it appears you have to "qualify to qualify" . There are only 3 chances to qualify not counting HOF and now they don't prepare so they have to limit the field of teams !!!! BS !! ASA needs to handle this situation , why even bid on the tourn. if you can't make it happen. UNACCEPTABLE

Don't leave anything visible in your car either. Last time we played there, had a guy smashing out windows and taking whatever they could from vehicles.

Happens everywhere, people who leave things visible in any parking lot in any city are asking to lose a window and their property.

Has anyone every been broken into in the DFW area during a tourney? I never heard of that happening in in my 4 years of travel ball. I leave coolers, chairs and fishing gear in my Truck bed all the time. I never worry about someone taking off with my stuff. I don't stock the cooler with beer so that might be one reason save that for the end of tourney.
