Wow. There is a alot of interesting comments here with some of the comments identifying at what level Mom or Dad's experience is with this game. I'm not knocking anything here, but as you continue forward in this game, you'll post some of what I'm saying for the next generation....

I thought this thread was to identify the best 10U NTX teams with a vote, not to bash other teams for the development program their coach has chosen for their team. What we have here is a failure to communicate/stay focused on the topic in the process of inserting vested interests into the poll. I'm glad the host of the post added other for consideration. My vote would got for the 99 Kruzers.

Development can come in all forms and be delivered differently across the board. Some of the teams in the poll chose to remain at their age level, gain confidence, fine tune their game, and achieve dominance within their age class...and that's just fine. Believe in your coaches and obtain the comfort required for your players need but what is the team's goal?

- Be the best team?
- Increase player fundamentals?
- Win tournaments?
- Qualify for Pony Nationals?
- Qualify for ASA Southern Nationals?
- Qualify for ASA "A" Nationals?
- Hand out snacks after the game?
....this list could go on forever but when you think about your DD and the team they are on, understand the goals of the team will formulate the team's development plan.

A 99 team is a 10U team, no matter if they are playing 18U in the Fall. I will put all my money on the team that plays 5 close games at an older age bracket than a 99 that has never ventured out of their comfort zone. The 99 team at the Arlington tournament didn't lose a game on Saturday, run ruled at true 97 team, and later lost back to back on Sunday. When you analyze the losses, they were a few runs difference in the score and died hard at the end. Impressive for a 10U playing some better 12U teams...back to the development plan.

Who will be better prepared to deal with adversity next year when it counts? It will be the team that has been the underdog before vice the team that has never been in the dog fight. Everyone talks about preparation but nothing can simulate the speed of the game when it's on your a**.

Advice, make sure your team is in the 2 10U tournaments the Kruzers are in and try to play up a couple to understand you will run into those types of teams on a national run. BTW, there's a tournament in Houston next spring that all the top 10U are pulling together around March 2010...go play the best to become better if your team is ready for that challenge.

Well said Iceberg. I will keep it simple here. I think so many positive things can happen when good 10U teams play up. The only reason that more coaches don't do it is the fear of the backlash the girls may experience from getting the beat down in 12U. You hope to gain stronger throwing arms from the 12" ball. You hope that girls would learn how to power through the heavier ball when hitting. Most importantly the increased speed of the game all together. I hope that more NTX top ten 10U teams choose to play up in 2 to 3 tourneys between now and the spring time. It can only help our top 10U talent prepare for July!!

First off let me say to even be mentioned in the same breath as the 99 Kruzers, 99 D-Bat, Rampage 99, 99 Texas Threat, 99 Fireballs, Lady RoughRiders 10u, and Mansfield Black Sox we take as an honor. All seven of these teams are very well coached very talented teams! I feel very compelled to say the Coach's of each of these teams we respect very much for there time and talent they spend with there respective teams. In no specific order, Danny Molina of the Kruzers, which my daughter has picked up and played with several times is a fantastic coach as is Paul Camacho! Troy Vinson of the Black Sox, Dewayne Greene, Brian Pleasants, and Marty Streetman of the Rampage, John Fellars of the Roughriders, Jeff Nicholas and Bernie Gehring of the Firballs, all of these men are great guys and fantastic coach's, that our staff is always honored to be on the field with! They all have great teams, talanted and very well coached!

Let me say until Tuesday of last week I had only been on this site one time prevoulsy as Coach from another age group asked me to take a look at something for him which I did. But last Tuesday I had a parent from another team and later a coach from another team call me tell me I needed to go take a look at this which I did. I chose really quickly to ignore and move on as I assure you most if not all the coach's mentioned in this thread would have done. But in my opionion this thing has gotten WAY WAY WAY out of hand! If you have a problem with my team Glory 99 I would urge you to please get in contact with me personally and we will do with up most respect to the game of softball and the teams to fix what ever the problem may be. In the mean time I wish the other teams mentioned in this post continued success for the rest of the season and in the future!

Finally, to pick the best team in the Metroplex or the State of Texas would be almost impossible, Simular to picking the NCAA Football National Championships, So enjoy that debate have fun with it, but please remember we are talking about 9-10 year old girls here that can read! Please remember there feelings, please remember we are here to make memories with them, all of them, the ones on our teams and the other teams, and to help them become the best softball players we can help them become! Bash me dislike me if you so choose, but please leave the kids out of it!!!

Coach's, again thank you for allowing me to be apart of the process. Thank you for your friendships and we will see you on the field!

Rest Assured this will be my one and only post on here!

Anyone bashing you is bashing the organization because they don't understand it or don't like it. You probably should have gone with your first instinct and let it ride. Anyway, keep up the good work and do like your older teams do and ignore the haters on here.

At least use spell check, understand the difference between there, their and they're and add a dash of common sense. Reading that dribble was like running a cheese grater across my cornea. :?

Wow, just when I thought this issue was water under the bridge. I really do not think that this site is designed to handle what should be a private matter even though one not so bright Redrocker individual decided to make personal attacks about some lady that probably couldn't harm a fly.

Can't we all just get along!?!?

I would expect kids to act like this but not grown adults. I would like to see Redrocker and phorn63 to kiss and make up already!!

Ok to get things started in Colleyville, Did you see first poolgame Sat. morning. Glory and Rampage. Here we go again. Someone in Colleyville must have wanted some fun to start of with. Hey I hear one of our favorite writers on here lives in the big Castle across the street from the park. Said he may have a big sign for one sweet lady as she drives up. Keep your eyes open.

Who to look out for.
Threat (very good team) OK force (have not seen play) Roughriders ( when on they are ON) Glory99 ( good team) Austin's Finest ( very quick) Black Sox( never no who they pick up) Kruzers( alot of buzz) Rampage (good battery)
Saturday all day marathon and Sunday's will be a good one!

I think the Ok. Force will surprise a lot of people. Probably one of the best 10U teams in the entire region. I still hope one of the NTX teams is ready to compete though baby.

Common Threat, Kruzers, Rampage, Rough Riders or Glory don't let them come into your back yard and take a tourney from you. They will run on you to death, they will purposely get into pickles or rundowns and get out of them, and they will hit the ball so be ready.

Looks like Glory and the Rampage both get to see what they can against them first from looking at the pool games.

Saw Force 99 this past weekend, Red River Raid, OK, They took 1ST. Yet the VTD doesn't show it? :o

They have 2 good Pitchers and a strong D. They hit the ball very very well. Don't throw junk at them they are very disciplined and will take the walk. And the chant their parents say when they hit or get an out fires them up. You KNOOOOOOOOW!

My moneys on the age ~ PURE Rough Riders!
