Elite & ETX Bombers both want to be in the conversation of "top teams" in N. Tx. Just do not see it. Both lack pitching. Not really a threat offensively. I would say that of the two the Bombers are closer as they are a relatively new team. Give them a year and allow them to gel an they could be in the conversation. Glory Kyser again looked sharp. They scored a bunch and pitching was solid. Speaking of pitching, looks like they added a former FC pitcher. Didnt see her pitch, but looks to be a great addition.

Heard that the VTD tourney at NRH was basically FC beating up weaker teams with one loss to Pride. Had several starters sitting a few games and still outmatched the other teams. Speaks to the depth of this team as well as the coaching. Pride tied with Assault?? Not familiar with that team. Fusion Rhine losing to Thunderstixx. Anyone know what happened to AF Kennedy?

AF Kennedy was just a Spring team composed of mostly 8th graders from their 16u teams and some 9th grade 97's. They have folded now that their regular teams are back to practice.

I would assume by the post that this is a Glory K parent since they had all the scores up. I think the fact is that several of the teams playing in these friendly's could be considered one of the top teams. Pride seems to play them very little, but can compete with most of them on any given day.

I have watched many of the games and for me the top spot would likely go to Glory K. They have a young pitcher that it seems very few teams hit very well, she moves the ball very well amd varies her speed very well. You don't see many balls hit very hard off of her. The defense is strong, and the offense can bunt or hit at will off of just about all the pitchers out there. I think this is a pure 98 and under team. This has to be the fastest team in the area.

Glory A. would likely take second, and could at times be considered the top team. This is not really a fair approach as a good number of his girls are older than most of the other teams carry. Either way a very talented team.

As far as the rest of the top five, that all depends on who is playing well that day.

On "ceelo9" post on Bombers and Elite. This must be a Bomber parent. I have watched both of these teams several times, and would have to easily give the upper hand to Elite. I have watched them both play many games, and have seen Elite play real close games with Glory K and Glory A, although I dont think that they have ever beat either of them. It appears that they had a bad weekend. I have not seen the Bombers win very many games.

Just my opinions!

If FC was beating up on everyone, why only 3rd place? I think what actually speaks to the depth of this team is that they picked up a pitcher committed to a Big 12 school and still couldn't win it all.

I agree. Obviously not a very clever one either.

I completely agree. The ETX Bombers are a great rec team at best. This has nothing to do with my opinions on their relations to child molestation accusations either. (http://www.heybucket.com/viewtopic.php?f=440&t=7341&start=10&hilit=Flanigan) This Elite team is pretty good and getting better each week. I would not put them in the same class as Glory or Adkins but anyone who has seen them play would have them in their top 5.

You may be right. You gotta love how a few of their parents constantly brag on here, only to go out and play a normal tournament and take 3rd place. They were the only team that is always wanting to be considered top five in that tournament, and they take 3rd. Wow! Ceelo -if you are a FC parent please worry about your own team and quite taking hits at others. As I said earlier, Pride can compete with what most want to consider Top 5. I think that the Thunderstix may also compete with most of the top teams, and they play none of the Friendly's.

I guess we will see at HOF unless they pull out like they did Desoto and all the friendlies.

The teams who are playing in these "restricted" friendlies are doing what they think is best, and that's ok. Other teams don't care to be a part of them, and that's ok, too. For anyone in the DFW area reading this who thinks their team is no good just because they aren't "invited" to these friendlies, I wouldn't worry about it.

The teams at the friendlies are pretty good teams, but far from the only good teams around DFW. So, if these teams finally do go out and actually enter a tournament, it's not that surprising if they don't "win it all".

I believe it can be a good thing to have friendlies, round robins, etc., because you do get some decent competition instead of 20-0 blowouts, but you also need to actually compete to win sometimes. Some of the teams at the friendlies seem to get a false sense of security and think that "it's okay to lose, because we are only losing to the best of the best." They are already in showcase mode, with a win or lose who cares attitude. Also, everyone knows everyone a little too well. And, they all get to feeling like it's okay if this or that doesn't work because I'll just try it again in 2 hours in our next game. That's nothing like the stress of knowing that what you attempt better work, or you will not be around two hours later to have a do-over.

Sometimes, playing all comers(good and bad), and playing where every game counts has it's advantages to becoming a better ball player.
