Big 12u Invitational Tournament in Houston

by fastpitchguru » Sun Jan 03, 2010 9:47 pm

Ok this is dumb but here goes......I have officially been sucked in to the dumbest conversation ever about softball:

Teams that Played in the Bomber Last Year:

96 Texas Bombers - 9th
Tx Fury - 17th
Texas Bandits - 25th
Tx. Red Hots - 25th
Austin Finest - 33rd

Ok now that the dumb stuff is over..Again , good luck in whatever you decide to do!

Have a great 2010 Season and may Texas Softball dominate in 2010!

TPS-98(Houston) won the 10-U Bomber Championship last year and then went on to place 4th at the ASA "A" National tourney behind 2 California teams and one Georgia team.

Bomber has pretty good opportunity for playing teams you may not ever play again but the fields are horrible and has been in the past one of the worst ran tourneys. Just my opinion.

When you can not get the top teams back and they start hunting new venues, that might tell you something about how well teams liked your tournament in the past experiences. ;)

You guys crack me up! I dont even have a dog in this fight , as our team is to old to participate in this tournament. But you keep making the statement that the teams entered are not the top teams in the state! Again whatever!

The Bomber Tournament is a now the 10th Annual Tournament , what other JO tournament in this state has been around for 10 freakin years? Obviously they are doing a few things right! On top of the fact there are currently there are 52 teams entered in the 12U division alone! And 106 teams entered between all the divisions! Seriously you obviously do not know much about tournaments and those that are good! I guess your the smart one and the other 106 Teams in New Braunsfels are just average softball teams with no common sense!

AGAIN....Good Luck to EVERYONE in 2010....have a great Season!

The amount of teams does not make a tournament a good one ! The way it is run, and if teams enjoy the venue I think would determine if it is successful. I'm sure this tournament has been a very good one in the past but the number of teams and lack of enough quality fields has had an effect on teams wanting to travel to play there ! This might be a reason why 'some known teams' have decided to make other arrangements for that weekend. ;)

Well...to each his own. We will just have to agree to disagree , and wish each other good luck and move on! I have grown tired of comparing a tournament that is in its 10th year and has over 50 teams wanting to play in it...to a round robin tournament with 7 confirmed so called "well known teams" I feel whole lot less smart for engaging in this conversation as long as I have!

Take Care , Stay Safe and hit em where they aint!

Time out!!!!!! So called "well Known teams" in a RR    . What you get at the Bomber Tourney is about 10 solid teams and 30-40 All-star or League Teams. It's a waste of time and energy. All the fields suck the parking sucks the restrooms suck and the umps suck need I say more. The Hammer is right the Bomber Tourney looks like a Hill Country goat ranch that hasn't seen water in years. The fields are a hazards to anyone that sets foot. The reason that the Bomber Tourney is so successful is because it is centrally located which draws every swinging yahoo from 150 miles with "a Team". Plus they get a little vacation on the river after they lose 2 staright. ;) ;) Like the Hammer said its not about the number of teams it's about the quality of teams. Rather play 7 tough teams than 40 All- star teams :o :o :o :o :o but not to mention we're going with our All-star team.
