After those pool games we took the girls back beat them, made them run diamonds in the field behind the hotel and berated them for hours until they were in tears...
Just kidding

Our girls were having a "10 year old" moment. If you haven't seen us before we can understand you wondering how we got the "w" in the tournament. All us parents were rolling our eyes and wondering what we were doing there as well

. But our girls, as they usually do, proved us wrong, gutted it up and got the job done. We don't always play perfectly but our 99 Bomber team like the rest of our organization is a scrappy group. We never played well last weekend, but the girls know how to get the job done. Plus, in the pool games we do play around with our lineups and batting orders, etc so that does make for a few screw ups that we normally wouldn't make. I promise, we really can play softball. Just sorry you had to watch that display on Saturday morning....it wasn't pretty.....
As for umpires, we have played in Dallas a LOT this fall and spring season. We have always commented about how decent your umps have been up there. Every now and then we roll our eyes at one of them, but that is fairly rare. We don't always agree with the call but consistency and mechanics are usually good and that is all we ask for. The difference being that the majority (instead of the minority) of the umpires at this tournament were problematic. In 7 games we had maybe 3 or 4 that had the appropriate mechanics and could maintain a game. I would have considered this rare for Dallas until then. We continue to enjoy coming to Dallas to play, but not sure what we will do about the PFX next year.
