there is no over reaction on my part. they dropped the ball, no tarps, no plan, nothing. thank you come again. on the tarp issue the outfields were never a problem, it was only the infield. the day it rained at harders they pushed the water into the outfield and no problems. our team made a choice no to play asa and had nothing to do level of competition. the issue is there is no closure to the national event. oh ya i am not a vtd guy. i am not going to debate asa or premier these are all choices not mandatory. on another note how can you pump premier, they havent been around long enough to praise them. no one has any idea what decisions they will make when mother nature tests them.

tarps to cover an infield are less than 2000 each. that is a drop in the bucket for what is spent to go to PCB. drainage was not the issue it was rain in the infield. i also agree up to this point they have done a good job with this tournament but not leaving with a 1st, 2nd or 3rd is not acceptable.

Not everyone wants to play college softball... Some kids might actually want to focus on thier education and future career...

Right there with you! I remember when we were playing all of the different letter org. trying to develop my daughter! Now its coming to an end, and I wonder where did the time go! Unfortunately, she will be the last one to go, as her sis graduated a year early and decided to forego volleyball and start college sooner. Next year when sis leaves for college, I really don't know what I'll do with the extra time......guess I'll go watch her play college softball....and bug the crap out of my other daughter by visiting all the time!

Bigtime all I am saying is everyone yells they should have tarps. From past experience the tarps are not the end all of saving a tournament from rain. By the way the $2000 tarps don't last!! Been there done that. How many fields are you looking at for tarps. It adds up and they don't last. That is alot of money to be laid for tarps that may not last and don't work right. Don't forget you have to have the people to get them out correctly for them to work and get it done before the rain stops. Tarps are good if you have the funds the manpower and the drainage. I feel bad for the kids for not getting the tournament finished. I know my daughter would have been upset as well. But I bet if you ask they still had a good time. Us parents are the worst thing about fastpitch softball and baseball and soccer and on and on. We lose sight of what is important. Think about if they bought tarps for 10 fields at $2000 you are looking at $20,000. I wonder how that cash out would effect the program though out the year. Yes they make money but not near as much as you think. Most associations put that money back into their association or parks but not all. Trust me tarps are not 100%. I would be more upset if they had spent the money on all the tarps and they didn't work because they don't have the ability to have them put out properly. Dont forget they have to be sitting right on the field ready to go. Most fields are not set up for that. It is a bad deal but seriously to think that Tarps would save the day is kinda Polly Anna.

Irving and Southlake had tarps...at about $2000 a pop. They were junk and lasted about a year or so...and didn't work very well, especially in the wind.
