The 98's, the good ones, will be playing 16u this Spring. 14u is a "one and done" age group nowadays.

There very well may be some strong 98 teams that intend on playing 14U. None that I know of, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Instead of talking about sharing my drink, why don't you let us know who they are?

We do have this conversation every year. Last year we had a poster continue to insist that there were herds of 97 teams playing high school ball that would come down and topple all of the teams mentioned in our threads. He of course could not name any, and no one ever saw them. The year prior, it was the same case with the 96s. So again, I'm certainly not arguing with you, but if you know some teams-add them to the conversation. That's what this thread was created for.

I was "that" poster you are referring to. I learned my lesson last year. There are no 98's.

The only 97 team that came down last year was Fusion Spuria - did quite well at ASA Natls.

Was at a friendly last weekend in Southlake, the best 14u team out there was Elite Papes - The next best was the Glory team Keith Allen was coaching. I wonder if that team is staying together? They looked tough.

My bad, sorry. The more I thought about the one and done I guess I agree. I don't like it, but what the heck. 16s is more about showcasing, so why would a coach want to see a 14 unless she is a freshman? I learned my lesson this year having my daughter play up to 16s. DD was bumped from line up cause coaches wanted to see other grad year! Sucks! won't do that with my younger one. Plus side is that my DD will play 2 more years of 16s. I won't play her up to 18s although she is capable.

14U is a one and done classification...thought maybe with the change to 43 it might keep some 14s around...don't think it will.

43' isn't even keeping the 2000's in 12u. I am surprised by that.

There are way too many 2000's watering down 14u from what I have seen so far this season. I believe the parent's ego's are driving this.

My DD is a 98 and is playing another year as a 14U. She will tryout for the 16U next fall when she enters HS.

I think Blaze has a real shot and winning some tournys this year. I also like Glory and Sudden Impact's chances as well.

My DD doesn't play for any of those teams either...
