Donnie , I was there and watching the Bombers beat the likes of Glory Adkins and Storm Demarini along the way through the losers bracket was amazing! That Bombers team can flat hit....one through nine is very very good! I guarantee you NO one had the Bombers on their radar heading to OKC!

I got the action almost pitch by pitch from baby sis during the last game, I was actually in a contract review meeting, reading a contract with one eye, and the other eye on my cell phone text screen, hope I didnt agree to anything I didnt mean to. Some of those kids, a pitcher (my niece) and the short stop and others, were on the state champ NB Canyon team. They are a classic group that proves the old saying 'Hitting solves all other problems' and when you dont have many 'other problems' then, wow.

Fusion played very good and will be tough in OKC.

The Hawks impressed a bunch of people. They played great D all weekend.

Congrats to all the teams that qualified. Looks like it will be a very tough field this year.

96, this is their first year of trying to qualify. They attempted at Georgia (lost to IG 2-0) , Tulsa, OKC, and got it in San Antonio. My niece plays for Scott, if we lived near NB, my daughters would too. Girls like to play for me, girls like to play for Scott, the difference is I coach in the afternoons at practice and on the weekends at tournaments. Scott is softball 24/7.

Scott has really built something there with the Bombers - I know others are involved but think about this - both 4A and 5A state champions came from that same central texas county with Bomber girls on both teams. 4A State Champion, 5A State Champion (i know coaches daigle had something to do with this ) and now being one of 64 teams to make it to Gold Nationals.

Some smart college is going to grab him.

Congratulations to the Fusion gold team for getting a birth to nationals for the second year in a row and I wish you well at nationals.Love him or hate him, Slade keeps getting it done.

Kudos to the Fusion players who actually played the games....maybe your coach will give you the credit. Well deserved credit (9 games through the losers bracket)!

Probably would have qualified in Tulsa with better coaching.

No hate. Reread the post. I think what the girls did on the field was outstanding. Slade only does himself an injustice when he comes on here or the VTD and consistently beats his chest about "HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS"

I personally think he is a good coach and manager of the game but his self promoting antics cost him respect among more than his peers, college coaches ask about coaches that they are unsure about once their teams start having success.

Trust me, college coaches know who is in the game for the girls and who are in it to make money. Just look at the fall of the Elite program since JD has turned it into a cash cow. JD lost the respect from his peers due to his ego and it has cost him in getting the top players in the metroplex, more importantly it has cost his organization with the recruiting of their players.

Do your own homework and see where the Elite players were going before and since JD's 2004 Gold team.

Look at who is recruiting Slade's players and who isn't.

His antics and his approach (unless change is made) will keep the top recruiters away, which only hurts the players of the Fusion program.

As soon as the qualifiers are over and Fusion gets their berth, you jump on here bashing Slade. Hadn't heard much before that... As far as heybucket, I don't recall seeing any posts from Texas Fusion Gold for quite awhile..

Regarding what coaches are recruiting who, how would you know who has and who hasn't recruited a player? Not every player takes the D1 offer, just to take it for the sake of parental EGO. Not all coaches will promote a player to a program like Florida at all costs - just so their daughter can be unhappy sitting the bench - and finally transfer to a school that is a "better fit".

Why would you care, obviously your kid doesn't play for the organization?

Yeah if I'm a college coach and I see a player I think can help my team win, I ignore them if I don't like the personality of that kid's travel coach. Hell, I wouldn't even look at a kid if their coach didn't give 50% of his income to promoting world peace. I'd rather recruit a lesser player that has a travel coach I like. Many is the time I've read where college coaches said something like "I was going to try to recruit Kobe and Lebron but their AAU coaches had body odor."

This seems like common sense to me. Maybe I'm wrong and common sense doesn't apply.
