It is called sarcasm and I thought it would be in keeping with the spirit of the subject of the thread. Everyone knows my DD is not the best in the country, but only the second best. That doesn't stop me from making her eat peanut butter three times a day and washing it all down with a pickle juice chaser.

Well I am not sure if I am qualified to claim your daughter as being third best in the country. However, I am certain my daughter is second best because she is a 150lb amazonian '99 that regularly competes against '98 B teams at several USFA tournaments despite the fact that we regularly complain to the TD about not reclassifying some '00 teams as possibly "C" teams.

What do we base "the best" on, or #1 or #2 on ????

Take a so called #1 pitcher, on a team that can't hit or can't field a ball and the team loses game after game. What rating do you give that pitcher now??

A sucessful pitcher is a pitcher who's team does well.

So, do we rate the team first or the pitcher first ??

who cares who the studs are at 10u....I'm still laughing about the entire thread. They're supposed to be developing their game and having fun at that age.(for christ's sake they're TEN YEAR OLDS..) Check back in 2014 when it really matters..LMAO..!!! half of the 10u studs won't even be playing by then..HA!HA!

If they are playing for you 70% to 80% will probably drop out. 10u is important to alot of kids coaches and parents. It is serious to them because it is the start of full softball. No coaches pitch no hitting off a tee just good softball. These kids cannot move up if they don't learn and if they are not pushed to succeed. If these girls were not playing 10u softball what would they be doing? Video games, ipods, setting in front of a tv or computer.

With softball they are getting exercise. Out in the air. Growing strong.

Yes fun for the sport and a love for the game has to be there also. They have to learn teamwork setting and achieving goals both as a team and as individuals, improving their skills so they can move to the next level and have more fun.

Yes there are alot of people that care alot about 10u softball, but it appears you are not one them. Try bowling it might suit you.

I'm just sayin'...most of your "studs" at this age won't even be playing or will care less and be burnt-out with parents like you pushing them. Sounds like you need to back off and let them be kids..!

You are correct that the kids should have fun, but at the same time they have to be serious about the game. I have seen kids that burn out. It is important to balance the kid's activities so burn out does not happen. Make sure they do other things besides just softball.

I just get upset when people indicate that 10u ball is not important. 10u ball once again is the foundation for real softball. The kids have to get it at this level because if they don't they will not be able to compete at the higher levels.

You "can" have alot of fun and still be serious about the game.

I like the TPS top three pitchers Payton is really looking good, looked the best I have seen her at state USFA. Jade is always consistent, and Tristen is as good as most #1 pitchers on most 10u teams. I have only seen #22 catch them and she knows how to take care of all of her pitchers. I have not seen her take a pitch off when she has played us. She has all the attributes I like to see in a good young catcher with the take charge attitude. I would have to put her as one of the top catchers in 10u. With these kids in the line up there is no wonder why TPS has had the success they are enjoying. Not to take away from the rest of the roster they support there pitchers extremely well.

I would have to put the Texas Sting up there with there pitcher catcher combo's. They just have to get deeper not as many options as the TPS on the mound, but are working to build with some great girls that will have a future with more time and growth. It seems to me that the Sting is a team that has become one of the most consistent teams sense the fall. This is from good coaching & hard work from the girls.

I think as the 98's roll to the 12u division in the fall we will see who emerges as the really good pitchers and catchers. This is the age that you have to bow up because these girls that have been dominating for the last two years will be the young one's on the block once again. We will see who can hang and who will wash. We also will see girls that have not yet hit there growth spurt emerge and even the playing field. To early to predict but really fun to watch this up and coming year.
