nadie me ha dicho nada

I don't see the reason to continue arguing a point neither of us will concede our opinions on.

Where have I been. Oh yeah, out of no where.

This is good stuff. I wonder how it will affect IG down the road?

Don't think I would look that direction if I had a kid playing these days.

Little to no effect. The families that play for them now don't care and the families they ask to play for them won't either. LOL

If they continue to be the top team in the area, players and families will still want to play for them for the same reasons they do now.

I do have a kid playing these days, and we are not.

I don't have a dd playing for impact gold and if the allegations against them are true, then I believe they have tarnished their image and everyone has a reason to be upset with their actions.

In looking at the organization and what they do to get dd's college scholarships I still believe they are tops in the area. It doesn't matter, as some have stated, that the girls had all the talent in the world from different sources and coaches before they got to ig. It was still ig that had the contacts and the know how to get them college scholarships. And as many have stated you cannot steal girls from other teams. They come to ig because the other organizations have not gotten them good offers and ig does.

So we should condemn what they are accused of doing for getting teams boycotted, if it is true
that they did, but give them credit for what they are doing for the girls that play for them. Get them offers and scholarships from colleges.

Just to throw in a few words about our experience with Impact Gold, players, parents and coaches. DD1 was recruited off my travel team to play for a major. After all the excitement of the verbals, visits, signing and all, Jonathan Lampl and others from IG contacted us about whether we would be interested in DD1 playing with them. The big benefit - she would get the benefit of competing against very good teams all the time - instead of with my team - a regional team from deep south texas, - competing against very good teams now and then (Im talking against teams like Houston Power, IG, and others that are annual qualifiers) before getting on campus. Of course, we were very excited about this - but DD1 , being a three sport athlete, needed some serious healing time (i.e. shut it down time) after an intense volleyball season and we had to pass. DD1 rested - and healed up - and went on to a great couple of years at A&M. The IG parents and the coaches , imo, bent over backwards to be decent and helpful to us.

In competing against IG , we had some great games - the IG girls would comment to my girls about things they could work on to get better. Nothing catty or anything but I think they saw a bunch of hard working kids - and were doing what any classy group of kids would do.

Very nice Donnie and pretty much the same thing I was trying to say in so many words. It is obvious that ya'll were not koolaid drinkers and for that you are commended.

I heard things have changed a bit with upper management of IG. For the head coach to form a committee and ban girls from playing in front of college coaches,(by threatening to pull 10 or so teams out of the tournament) maybe he and some other committee members were just pissed off that they couldn't get their hands on some already committed girls?

Is that true?

BBD, if you are asking me, I dont have a clue. To me, it would be way out of character - for IG people to cause problems for college coaches wanting to see kids , regardless of who the kid played for.
