There is a good 10U tournament in the making.....

by cjdad » Wed Jan 27, 2010 12:10 pm

hahaha. actually I have watched the bombers play. very good team. very good pitching. just wanting to see other peoples reactions to an off the wall post. I think the top five could go in any order depending on what kind of day teams are having. I would love to see more tournaments like these 2. so all you big teams try to sign up together.

Going to be another great weekend to watch!
1)99 Bombers (these girls fight hard)
2)Texas Threat (only one I've seen give Bombers run for their talent)
3)Munizo
4)Oklahoma Force

Sorry but RoughRiders are by far not the best team in this tournament..Most of the tournaments they've won in were against 00..
And Oklahoma force can be good competion to play also.
But again all these teams are excellent if it's there Weekend to come and play then anyone can win!

I would take Ok. Force over Threat. Bombers look really tough past weekend.

OK Force has a VERY good team. SOLID defense. Saw them play the Southlake tournament last fall. I am assuming they are only getting better. Not overwhelming pitching, but very solid. Bats were certainly good enough. They should be in the hunt.

Cenla is very similar to the Force team. Very, Very consistent. First year 10's don't make the top 5 at USFA nationals (even in B) and not be put together well. They were a good 8U team too, so suspect they will just continue to get stronger.

The Bomber Organization as a whole has scrappy teams. They fight hard from 8u to gold. This team seems to have all the pieces. They don't always have them at one game though. Thing is, they can win high scoring games with their bats or low scoring ones with defense and pitching so I would say, yes, they could be dangerous at mizuno. If they put all three together in one weekend, watch out.

The Houston teams are always competitive, but it depends on which girls they bring on a particular weekend. They have a tendency to pick up players from other teams not playing to bring to these big tournaments, so this will be a toss up.

The strongest Dallas area teams seem to be the Kruzers and the Threat right now, but haven't seen Mizuno play since they were still NT Rampage, so???

Can't wait to see the pool break down for this one.

I dont think Knucklecurve was picking a order, I just believe he was listing the teams that will be attending however I could be wrong. I think this will be a good tournament no matter how these teams do. We all know they are 10 yrs old and anyday can be on or off. I watched the Roughriders play the Bombers on Saturday and they was winning the game until the last inning and lost 3-2. I also heard they tied them 1 to 1 at a friendly a couple weeks earlier. No matter who wins this match up it appeared to me, both teams had much respect for each other. As far as their record, the last 1st place finish it appears they had was in Mansfield against Threat, Black-sox, and Glory according to the VTD.

I know for sure I wont be trying to pick a order for this tournament. I know there is probably 15 different teams in this tournament that could take 1st, 2nd and 3rd on any given day. If you played this tournament 2 weekends in a row, you would probably find 3 different teams 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

It will definately be a tournament to talk about.

SBfanatic2 is right, I wasn't trying to pick the order of finish, just copied and pasted the teams in the tourney to this sight for comment.

I understand that Mizuno and OK Force had a couple great games in Kilgore, anyone care to comment that was there and how good these two teams are this year? I know that the Force has always been a solid team.

The Bombers are a solid team and so are the Cobras and TPS 99. This will be like the horse races and will be difficult to pick the tri-fecta!

I would never take any team in this field lightly as they wouldn't be in it if someone didn't think they are talented.

This will provide for one of the most competitive events by far in while in these parts and one that I wouldn't miss for nothing.

The match-up between OK. Force and Mizuno lived up to the hype for sure. Final score in the ship was 6-5 and both teams were hitting the ball hard! I think both teams have great respect for one another after that one and I hope to see them many times more this year as they are a well coached team.

This is the first time that I can honestly say that at least 10-12 teams have a shot to win this tourney. Normally I would say that only 3-4 teams have a shot to win a tourney, but that is not this case with this field of teams. There will be no easy pools or easy draw's in the bracket.

I just hope that everyone has fun, all players are free of injury and each individual experiences great competition to prepare themselves for the qualifiers and national tourney's in the coming months.
