Well Coached Teams

I agree with flash4 as a coach you do everything within the rules to help your team win. we also have been on the receiving end of that tactic but also used it when we could to win it's part of select ball. Hey you give some and you take some thats just the way it goes.

Exactly. Nobody likes it when they are on the receiving end, but all coaches do it and it's part of the game.

Who cares if a team steps on home to get another abat. If the Freez Blue is winning and a team did that to us, I'd expect my kids to be prepared to defend for 3 more outs. So the Glory stepped on home to get another ab......how do we know the other team didn't stall to get it to that point the Glory coaches felt the need to? Also, if the game wasn't timed, the Glory would have had that extra inning to hit anyway? So what? Coaches coach, Kids play. Trust me, none of my kids would care...I don't care......its a GAME......you get to play another one in a hour, or tomorrow, or next weekend, or next season........remember.....they step on home......you get another 3 outs too? Trust me, the three kids that would get to bat that extra inning would be excited to step up there again. 360......its starting to sound like its more about YOU, than the kids. How many coaches on this board or any board would state their kids would be effected by another kid stepping on home??? Girls.....we won because we stepped on home!!!! Who says that??? Kids don't remember that crap.....only coaches do, parents sometimes......kids....nope......they're just out there to play..........not for a

 Do anthing you can to win except: DO NOT defend your ace pitcher DD when she gets beaned for the third time, while the opposing pitchers DWD is laughing and saying "hit her again". You'll end up in sessions exploring the depths of your sole (nothing mispelled here).

Did I tell ya'll...I can provide referrals for all you angry  beasts.

I'm glad you mentioned coach Flan, any coach that has his players step on the plate to extend a game due to his team losing well never be a good coach.

Softball wasn't designed for coaches to manipulate the outcome or delay the game. The reason I like softball is for the pureness of the sport, team against team, girl against girl. Their hard work at practice showing during the game. I hate it when I see a coach have girls delay or get intentional outs so they might come back and win.

I saw another coach for glory do this also last fall. (Fouts) If this is what they teach in glory nation they are teaching the girls nothing...MHO

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha HA HA HA

I watched the game in question against Fusion (Mendez) and 95 Glory (Flannigan) and I also spoke to Flannigan after the game. Great game but here is my take on the game...

1st - Fusion's pitcher was getting to Glory's batters - she was moving the ball and slow
2nd - Glory's S.S. made an error that Fusion capitalized on.
3rd - Fusion was visitor AND with two outs left and 2 minutes left, Fusion called a time out. (This is a stalling technique but only Flannigan was busted on here). (Fusion was pitching the batter high high high and she was smart enough to swing so Fusion called a time out.....TO EARLY).

Next pitch.... girl stepped across the plate - 3rd out!!!! Smart coaching!!!!

Fusion had a chance to bat again and could not get it done. Glory came back up to bat and did what they know how to do and that's hit the ball and win.

It was a great game but Fusion learned alot....don't call time outs to early and never relax on 95 Glory because they play from the first pitch to the last.

Keep up the good work Fusion because you looked good during the tournament and are improving alot! Learn from the best and you will only get better!

Also calling timeouts and stepping on the plate is a little diffrent, maybe they wanted to tell their pitcher not to worry about the clock and play the game..who knows.. We know what Coach Flan was doing...at least they wasn't changing out catchers on them..

well now fastpitch360, you were the one calling "a" coach out on this and you dont know? well for your info it is only an out if contact with the ball is made. However, crossing the plate without calling time is an out! Again all coaches call time out to benefit their team from time to time and I think it is a shame to down any coach who volunteers his time or any player playing the game.what ever beef you have just get over it!!!!!!!!!!

You get over it..And also look again in your 2008 ASA rule book..This is about the integrity of the game thats it, not about about me and what I know. If that was a rule the umpires should understand what this coach is doing and play softball as it was designed not the way you or anyone like you want to play it "beating the crap out of each other". INTEGRITY THATS IT...
