Best 14U Teams in NTX

by TexasSoftball » Fri Jan 06, 2012 2:55 pm

If this pickup pitcher really has a committment to OSU, I believe this was in the works before she played one tournament with them, just saying. I also believe she had parents that attended there also, if I am not mistaken. Congrats to her, but I question who got her committed.

You are spot on and no offense to heartwell or dizmond but the DFW Firecrackers could not get a crazy person committed.

If memory serves me correct, the kid picked up in a 16U tourney or maybe 18u, and was noticed by OSU BEFORE she was on the Firecrackers. So I am pretty sure the Firecrackers had anything to do with it. Kid is a stud.

Just my opinion but the Firecrackers might want to try and win a local tournament before they come on here boasting they are a lock for ASA Nationals. Last I looked they only placed in 2 out of 8 VTD tournaments in 2011. Unless those tournaments were all full of Nationally ranked teams I think maybe they might want to subscribe to the undersell and over deliver theory. Fact is this team always talks big BEFORE tournaments but usually chokes and comes back with excuses why they didnt win!!! Maybe this pitcher is a stud, but chances are she wont be there long. Firecrackers have always been notorious for turning over their roster at a alarming rate people are not leaving at that rate because its a great place to play. Before anyone asks, No we have never played with the Firecrackers but I have been watching them play for years since 10U and its always been the same.

Man what a rollercoaster. I have stayed away from posting as not fuel the fire. You know maybe it will just go away if we ignore it but that I guess will not be the case. We just need to remember that when we post that we are talking about a team with a bunch of hard working girls and we should stay away from naming or references any of the girls really on any team.

Just wanted to clear up a couple comments here. Pitcherzpop, ceelo9 are not any of my parents that I can guarantee. Our parents already know we have a big target on our back so I'm sure they are not coming on here bragging. I know we will not able to all posting here, current parents, previous parents and friends alike. This stuff wears on you so I know these are our parents now, previously maybe. As our friends from the South say you cannot win a championship in these message boards, nobody has.

As far as our new '97 pitcher, we never claimed we got her committed. Her career with all the previous coaches, parents and her undeniable talent are the reasons why she is committed. We are very lucky to have her playing with us even if it's for a short period of time. We are honored to have her as a roll model for our other pitchers and the rest of the team. To have one of the top pitchers in the country is really a blessing. As far as getting girls committed justawatcher you are right I cannot get anybody signed. The girls will need to do that. I can sell a girl to a coach but if the girls does not perform then there is nothing we can do. I believe scholarships and championships are won in practice. The finished product is what you see on the field. If it's not good enough then we need to hit practice harder. Having said that I am very proud to say we have sent 3 of our '98's on recruiting trips to major D1 schools and one of those players will go on another recruiting trip to a major D1 school in a couple of weeks. It is just tough to swallow when posters come here and deny our girls accomplishments. You can go after me all you want...

As far as the top team. That is hilarious and all of you are right we need win something first. Lol! The top team in Texas resides in the South. There is no denying that. We got run ruled by them AT NATIONALS mind you. Enough said!

That brings me to my other point. Turnover; Well since we started with the Shadows we have 3 returning players which one of those is my daughter. The core group has been together for more than 2 years. As much as I want to keep all the players since our Shadow's days it's impossible. Can't keep everyone happy. Just by inertia you're going to lose one player and a second because they are not happy. So we lose 1-2 players a year. I would like to know how everybody's roster was 4 years ago. I understand we are on HB wether it be a parent, friend or ex parent so it's brought out to light. Turnover is inevitable for whatever reason.

Look I'm just trying to do something good for the girls that are on our team and even those that have left. My guarantee to all of my new players that have entered is that they are going to be a better ball player and a better young lady once they leave our team or stay on our team. The scholarships ar all up to them. "You get out, what you put in" I tell them give me one year if it doesn't work out I am completely fine with parting ways. I talk to at least 90% of the parents that have left and I would do anything to help them get recruited if I can.

I really admire and respect what all of the other major orgs are doing here in NTX and throughout. Helping young ladies a achieve there dream to play softball at the next level. I will do whatever I can to make sure our girls achieve that same dream.

I apologize for the long read. I know not all claims, doubts have been answered. Please call me with any other questions.
This message board has driven me crazy and the rest of my parents as you can imagine.

Thank you,
Tony Rosales

The best 14U first year teams in DFW will be the top 12U teams from last year. Allen, Firecrackers, Fireballs, Pride & Rhine. Regardless of whether or not they win every tournament, these teams consistently rank at the top of most tournaments. By DFW standards they have been, are, and will be the top 98 teams. Kids may move around but it's the same top players we're talking about here.

Pride does the best in the local tournies, Firecrackers do the best in the out of town tournaments, Fireballs always find a way to play deep on Sunday, Rhine by far is the most improved, & Allen is always solid. Any family that is a part of these 5 organizations should be proud of their accomplishments, win or lose.

Knowing parents on every one of these teams, I'd also venture a guess that the people on here bragging on one team or another aren't affiliated with the team but do it to cause strife. I'd also be of the opinion that it's generall parents that go by the creed, "the older I get the better I was" so you act like you know these teams when really, you're just a miserable person who's daughter would probably be ashamed of your antics.

Come on already...... The top 15' & 16's (97' & 98') are not playing at the 14u level guys. Look around you mommy's and daddy's, nobody is commited...maybe verballed, but not commited. Big difference! Also, alot of girls are going to colleges this time of year for "visits" are called winter camps/clinics.There is along way to go before you start blowing someones horn to loud. Just sayin.
