That is what its about folks - Not worrying about the trophies but the development and challenge to prepare the team for the future. Guess who has a head start ;)

Very well said. Seems everybody is all worried about winning and trophies right now. Don't get me wrong, I like to win also. But the main thing at this age is developing the player and the best way to do that is to push them and to play stiff competition. Then all the trophies will come. I applaud the Kruzers for playing up.[/quote]

Yeeeeaaah! That's what I'm talkin bout DUECE-DUECE (you should hear me say it :D )

Of all the teams listed and if I were the 99 Kruzers coach, I wouldn't want to see any of those 99 teams till next Summer. By then, his team will be on a different level when they step down...sure they will lose "a few" ;) at 12U, but will run every team in 10U off the field next summer...I wish them the best and applaud the parents for believing in the though process, their players for being fearless, and the coach for having the foresight to challenge and push!

Go get'em!

Alright you buncha babies! HAHA...Kruzers have been added...but I don't understand how playing 12U and classified as a 10U automatically makes you better for the summer? How many teams played up at 14U to prepare for nationals and went out and got SPANKED by 12U teams at nationals....I could count for days...but we'll see next summer!

In my opinion.....
Ok i am not real sure how everyone is thinking the Kruzers were slighted by not being on the list....of the 13 tournaments they played in this year only 2 were 12u and they had a combined record of 0-4. There record doesnt reflect that they were that competitive in the tournamants they played in. They had a couple of 5th place finishes and two 2nd place finishes...one of the tournaments they finished 2nd with a record of 4-3 while while four other teams had better records than them, (7-0, 7-0, 6-0, 6-1) not sure how that happened. The DFW championship was a four team bracket (weak) and they finished with a 2-3 record. Yea they got a bid for nationals but how competitive was it (no offense to the teams involved).
I know they have a good group of girls on that team but it seems there is a constant rotation of talent outside of their core group of very talented girls. Not sure how that plays into developing a "playbook" for competitiveness. Just because they have decided to play 12u this fall doesnt necessarily make them better for 10u this summer just as them moving up to 10u from 8u didnt necessarily make them more competitive for 10u.

Well..thats my 2 cents....It will all work itself out on the dirt anyways...

We all know this is true.. I mean look at the Kruzers record.. they played 10U since April 2008 when they should have been playing 8U with a winning record. In 10U in '09 they dominated everyone (NOT) because of the head start they had moving up early to 10U in '08.

I guess if this is what the Kruzers want to do and what the parents want to do then more power to them, that is if they have the same parents next week .

Most of the tourneys are open this fall. Sand baggers can still selectively chose which tournament they enter to avoid the big dogs. It's a catch 22...but it's a baby step forward for North Texas.

I have to agree with you sbfanatic. Everywhere I have been, you really did not have a choice in the matter. If you were a select team then you were playing "A" no matter what.

If teams can't compete in "A", then the coaches better practice fundamentals a little harder or go play in a competetive rec league somewhere, because good teams don't just lie down, they are going to hit and they are going to play defense! If a coach for a good team is going to sandbag, he isn't a good coach.
