Last time I checked Catholics were Christians too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously can we leave religion out of it.
Just play your music a little less loud and be respectful of others!
How about lets follow the Golden Rule " treat everyone the same way you would want them to treat you"

Come on people GROW UP!

I thought that was the coolest thing in the world and even went over and thanked them for playing such nice music. Problem with that is I do not know how many people listening outside of their team knew what type of music it was. That kind of music should be OK anywhere in the world as long as it is not being played so loud that it distracts other teams on other fields.. The team "Spring Sting".

Phantomz, I am what I would describe as a devout, practicing Christian. On Sunday mornings, if I'm not watching DD play softball, I'm at church. I also don't agree that someone is somehow "offended" by Christian music, or that their "rights" are being violated by exposure to that kind of music. That is a manufactured issue. However, I don't agree with you. You can't allow only certain kinds of music, one way or the other. If boomboxes are allowed, then all kinds of music are allowed. If boomboxes are banned, then all kinds of music are banned. That is not discrimination, it's equitable treatment.

I in no way was saying that only Christian music should be allowed. I was simply stating that Christian music should be allowed anywhere in the world!! (pro Christian) I am not sure what you do not agree with me on?? If boomboxes are banned, then no music is played correct?? I more simply was stating that it was the first time I heard a team play Christian music on their boombox at a softball game and I thought it was the COOLEST thing in the world... You must have a problem with me or something as I never said anybody was offended by it either nor that their rights have been violated!!!! What's the problem???

I have no problem with you. Have a nice day! :D

Boomboxes have become a part of the GFP culture. I agree that there are some that put a little to much time and $$$$ into a radio in a cooler, that's just my opinion. It all comes down to respect. If you don't have it! Get it!

You can play what ever you want at the right times.

Classical music (Art music) · Traditional music · Popular music · Blues · Country · Electronic · Folk · Heavy metal · Hip hop · Jazz · Reggae · Rock. (no foul language)

Steps for dealing with loud music at tounaments: (Only if it impacts the game, not an individual)
1. Go over ask the team to please turn it down. (problem not solved goto step 2)
2. Ask the tournament director for help. (problem not solved goto step 3)
3. Build one bigger and louder than theirs and get some payback. (worked for me) :D

the louder the better and if it causes somebody to lose their concentration on another field, that is their problem

I can not understand why adults (maybe) would want to wage a war of the boom boxes when their daughters are playing their hearts out on the softball field. Don't you have any respect for your daughters are for the game. This is not about music this is about the girls playing ball and the parents enjoying that play.

Leave the boom boxes at home and enjoy the sounds of the daughters playing softball.

Dont reacall a boom box ever being a part of the girls select fast pitch culture when my daughter was playing all 9 of those years. Then again I think I was enjoying the sounds of the game. Like the girls cheering their teammates on. The sound of the bat ringing after a good solid hit. The sound of me screaming because the DD just hit my palm with a 60 MPH ball during her warm up between innings. :D

We did have music at her HS games but even then it was monitored for content and language and was played at a reasonable volume without disrupting other games.

We really like our guns here in Texas. Maybe you could put a target on the side of your Boom Box??? We can end the debate quickly. No need to involve the TD.

Then we can go back to playing softball.
Read the destructions first.
