I thought the Peppers were solid . Who left ?

That may be true but this will be an all Dallas affair. 8 o'clock Sunday morning Kruzers/Fusion

Did get to watch a little friday, i did not notice any new player or the loss of another?? The lead off #3 must be done with high school and the Peppers had 11 when i saw them.

Ok, don't know about any new player that the peppers may have but i'll go with shut down pitching and offense. that leaves Peppers and Bombers with the krusers.
That would be my 1,2,3 in no certain order.
I know what opinions are like, everybody has one and they all stink.

Where are ya Houston? Sure has been quiet. Guess you have no response when you get called out for a reason. Not much of a leg to stand on when you only send 2 teams. Perhaps recent tournament results in your neck of the woods combined with your poor showing at Nationals last summer has taken some of the bite out of your bark. Just find it amusing to compare this year to last year's HOF qualifier. Leading up to that tournament last year, HB was exploding with post after post of smack talk from you guys.

For the record, here are my picks:

I would not want to be part of the Bombers or Diamonds - both of those teams got screwed from the standpoint of having to play each other in the very first game of the tournament. A good team is going to the losers bracket right off the bat. Same thing happened last year in SA when Thunder and Fusion played in their first game of the bracket.

Game 25 - Fusion vs DBat
Game 26 - Peppers vs Kruzers

Game 27 - Elite Bancroft vs Glory Poole
Game 28 - Bombers vs Diamonds

Game 29 - Glory Poole vs Fusion
Game 30 - Diamonds vs Peppers

Game 31 - DBat vs Kruzers

Game 32 - Fusion vs Peppers

Game 33 - Fusion vs DBat

Game 34 - Kruzers vs Fusion

Top 5 in order:

1. Kruzers
2. Fusion
3. DBat
4. Peppers
5. Glory Poole
5. Diamonds

You folks driving from DFW/Houston/Austin be safe. Looks like rain is on the way. They forecast up to 1" from noon today to saturday night in Midland so pack your rain gear.

If anyone can pull this tournament off it is Feddie Ezell and his crew. He has been doing this forever and there is none better in Texas.

I know there has been some concern about Midland hosting. Let me tell you , they do a great jo and the people of West Texas are warm and welcoming and really appreciate your efforts in attending the tournament.

Even though you might find "nicer" complexes in the DFW area, the MUGGS complex can hold it's own. 9 fields all together so you can litterally watch 8 or 9 games withing a couple of minutes walk from one another. However I think we will be playing only on 8. Field 7 is used for HS playoffs frequently and I think that is the situation tonight and tomorrow. The don't have a lot of rules like some big city complexes. Bring your coolers, grills whatever and have a good time. There are camper hookups on the south side. There will be plenty of vendors selling just about anything you like. Be on the lookout for a little Mexican man pushing a ice cream cart around. He is selling these frozen fruit thingies from Mexico. The are the most amazing frozen treat I have ever had. Try the coconut.

If the rain hold out i think yall are in for a pleasant tournament. i wish all of you the best of luck and safe travels.

BTW, my prediction in no particular order; Peppers/Krusers/Fusion. If there is one West Texas Team that could cause a little concern for you it would be the BALLAZ. There pitching is above average, they hit very well, and adequate defense. However they would probably get the Kruzers second game so...

Must agree! Midland JUST SUCKS! If you were to pose the question on the Main board "Worst ASA National Location" (and those that went to 14-u 2008 will no doubt agree.) Midland would win by a land slid! Not a pleasent venue at all. now if you are a tumble weed or a rattle snake then perhaps it is just right. ;)

It's not about nice complexes. It's about serving the customer! The reason Houston isn't showing up is because they're the only smart ones in the bunch saying...8-10 hours drive, 2 gg...uhmmmmm, no thanks!

I'd bet Jemima's last dollar you could double the participation in this event by hosting it in central Texas...Austin, Waco, etc. 2-4 hour drive is reasonable for most... and teams, coaches, families would make it happen. This isn't to slight the good folks of Midland who know and love their softball...it's about common sense, customer service, and catering to the masses.
