The fringe and daddy ball crowd does complain. That is not the relevant benchmark. And yes JL can do anything he wants on the schedule. (Note: eventually TC will push him out, but that is another issue.)

The relevant test is: Can the schedule and field assignments be viewed by objective longstanding softball coaches as within the realm of fair and reasonable? I know many softball coaches who are privately upset. They have supported JL for years and now they see a many indefensible judgments in that schedule. Not the entire one. Why not mix up access to the prime fields a little. Can JL defend this to an object audience without being embarrassed? His defense is this happens in Rising Stars, in Huntington Beach, in Colorado and Arizona. We have played in all of those places and I have seen the normal range of acceptable favoritism. The Gold Coast Hurricanes are a first class outfit. Not what you have this year at RMD.

JL can do anything he wants until the market rebels and finds an alternative.

Trust me when I say.... if and when you decide to drop out of this tournament there is a hand full of teams waiting to get in. It happens everywhere no matter what state your in or who's running the tournament. In Florida there are Tx teams that only stay in the main fields and others on out lying fields. Look at the New Jersey fall showcase the Tx teams that went out there were on the main fields only. So if your waiting for TC to take of the scheduling then be prepared to be real disappointed cause if your not in their computer systems ranking, committed college players on your team ect ect. Hell you might not even get in the tournament. Then you will be crying for JL to step back in.

Umm, thats not exactly true, the not caring part. I've spotted him several times over the summer at TX FC games talking with parents and college coaches while watching the team with interest. He sure looked like he cared about what was going on.

I said he doesn't care what time a team plays. As far as his interest in the sister team, he is going to check in to make sure the TX Firecrackers are representing the name well. But he isn't going to make decision about where his Worth Firecrackers team plays based on what fields or what time any of the other Firecracker teams play.

Yes, that is correct, most people in the softball community know that as I develop tournaments in Texas for TCS. When TCS manages the RM tournament in 2013, I will be representing them. Any other questions,please feel free to call me at 832-498-2644.

I have sat back and watched this thread go 100 different directions and could not hold back any longer. I know that by commenting it will open me up for bashing as well. But the Ronald McDonald tournament is the MOST successful tournament held in the state of Texas period! And it has been that way for many many years!!! That does not happen by chance.....it happens because it is well run and well respected! JL has made that tournament the premier recruiting event in our area and our teams certainly have benefited by way of scholarships because of it! We have teams playing at 3 different ballparks during the tournament....Our more accomplished teams are at certain ballparks and fields and our teams that are still in the process of establishing a resume worthy of being considered for better field assignments etc are at other ballparks. That is the way the process should be! Many people brought up the fact that the tournament made a lot of money? Most ventures that are well run and managed are successful? If the event was not , it would not last......obviously the fact that this tournament has been around so long and draws so many college coaches is a great example of the ability of the people running the event and the way the event is run! If you took into consideration the amount of scholarship money earned by all the players that have had the opportunity to participate in this tournament and then add that money to the amount donated to the RM House , your talking about a very very successful event that benefits a ton of people!

This is just another example of people trying to tear down individuals that are successful and have done something they have not! You can continue to fire shots at JL and that group if you want to (Heck you can fire em at me for this post as well) but at the end of the day you have a choice to participate or not....and if you look at it like I do , I would be doing a disservice to my players and parents by not playing in the top college showcase held in our our area! So I will just say thanks JL for all of the hard work that goes into running an event like this and we appreciate the opportunity to compete.
