Texas Glory-Elliott becomes Texas Glory-Adkins

2much4u wrote:Dan, Dan you're the man!!! You have never STOLEN a player from another team or within the Glory "pipeline"? You are pathetic. I have been around North Texas softball for many years and I know you have used this tactic for many years. Matter of fact, your recruiter Ted has been sending emails to a majority of the players on my daughter's team and other teams (no associated with Glory). This has occurred since you had the 70+ players attend your 16U tryout. Could you not build a team from these 70+ girls and the ones you have already "recruited" from other teams?

You have no respect for other coaches who have worked hard through the years to help these young ladies become better athletes. You try to take the best players from every team in the metroplex just so you can say "Looks what I did for Susie, I got her a scholarship". BS Dan. If a player is talented and does her homework (i.e. college looks, college camps, sending letters, etc.) she will get a scholarhip whether she is a part of Glory or not. Other coaches just don't brag about it like you do, they don't need to stroke their ego.

Every season your "recruiters" send out a blast email that says "We want your athlete, blah blah blah". I personally have received these in the past from the Glory organization. This is not recruiting, right Dan? Even before the fall season was over, a Glory coach called another coach from another organization wanting him to bring his DD and the catcher to the Glory. Didn't happen, coach is committed to his players (kudos to him). A player's parents on Naudin's team received a call from Adkin's side wanting DD. Parent said no, "recruiter" immediately sent a text message to the player. TOO FUNNY

Dan, have your tryouts like everyone else. Form a team from these players (that's right, you want "ready-made" players that you don't have to work with). IF A PLAYER DOESN'T COME TO YOUR TRYOUT, THEN DON'T TRY TO "RECRUIT" THEM. Quit tearing apart other teams. Do you really need 20 players on a team? It's sad to be so greedy just to make yourself look good.

Coaches Beware!!! If you want to keep your team together, don't disclose any player contact info when you attend Glory Exposure Tournaments or Camps.

Dan, you are a pathetic liar!
Glory, Glory Hallelujah

Now, as a coach in North Texas it's important for me to know exactly what you're saying here. Is the Glory organization recruiting players from other teams? Did you witness this yourself? Are they showing a lack of respect if they recruit or steal players? Does this practice actually tear teams apart? Is Dan pathetic or is he a liar...or is he both? Please summarize.

They are there because they want to be there. If a better opportunity comes along then it is fair game for them to move on. By using your view of things, you probably still have the first and only job you ever had because for someone else to make you a job offer with better opportunity would be wrong I suppose???

I have always recruited players that I feel will fill the role on my team. I will continue to do so. I also recruit adults in the real world that may make my company better. If a player is happy, they stay where they are at, if not then they have an opportunity to move on to a new enviroment and see how it works out. Trust me, my players get the same calls from other coaches all the time. To them I say, if your not happy leave and find the right fit for you and make the most of it. Again, players are not property.

We have our teams all set, if someone is telling you that we are calling someone on another team, they are giving you wrong information. I do not have 20 players on my roster either so again, you have bad info. I am flattered that you worry enough about what I am doing to take so much time out of your day to type such a long and obviously thought out rant (although mostly inaccurate and hide behind a fake name...to be credibility, man up and state your name) because as long as I occupy that much of your thought process, YOU are right where I want you to be, worrying about me!

Dan, share with us how it makes you feel when your company loses a top producer to the evil doers...Please define 'better opportunity'. Are you a real snake or do you just play one when it's dark? Is Ted, the Glory recruiter referred to earlier, your boy toy?

Doesn't anyone remember Fusion going through this early last year? Torn apart on the boards about how they were stealing players, their teams were going to suck (except the older 14's), and how Slade was just an all around crappy guy. They ended up fielding 3 competitive teams in 3 different age groups. You can't force players to leave, they either want it or they don't.

This whole post just confirms my thoughts. People suck and marijuana should be legal.

Joe, I don't lose workers. If you pay them well and treat them with respect and fairly THEY DON'T LEAVE. I don't pay softball players...but same thing holds true, if you provide them a good place to play, be fair and consistent while putting them in a place to be successful they keep coming back. Look at the track record of kids I posted a few pages back.

As for Ted, he is doing a great job for Texas Glory. Thanks for keeping us top of mind.

Didn't the Fusion Gold blow up and lose half of its roster after ASA Gold Nationals and didn't the "older" Fusion team (now the Fusion 16u) lose at least five of its best starters from last year's team that went to 14u ASA Nationals? Just asking?

Let see if I am not mistaken since Nationals last year they have lost the C and SS to Naudin's team, 2nd and 1st to Adkins team, a P to the Travelers, and 3rd to their own Gold team. Oh yeah and a Coach.

Rumor has it that more are leaving, we will have to wait and see. It is really sad to see I was looking at the 16U roster, and it is absolutely not as talented as last years team. They have the two pitchers they started with, but other than that not much to feed their Gold team with.

The 14U team is even worse, they won't even be able to compete with the Top teams in the area.

Dan, please define the difference between "stealing" and "recruiting". You want to give the girls a better opportunity. Better opportunity for what? Do you really think these players do not have the opportunity to play in college without being a Glory girl. All of you non-Glory coaches must really suck because you have not giving your girls the "better opportunity". Please tell me how girls who have never been a part of the Glory have committed to play college softball without Dan Dan the Superman. It appears that they have had great opportunities. We may all be misinformed about that too.

When did you set your 16U team? As of last week, the emails and phone calls were occurring. Maybe all of the people that received one are a bunch of liars. It appears you don't have a lot of confidence in the players you have chosen or you wouldn't be looking for more players.

As for your "Gold" team, the eteamz site shows 20 players on the roster. This may not be current but you probably have close to 20 or enough for two teams, you might need to do a "roll call" to see how many you have.

As I stated earlier have your tryout and if players are not happy or need a better opportunity then they will show up. Otherwise, you should have plenty of players moving up through the "pipeline". Believe it or not Dan, many girls are very happy with their current team. Turn up the volume Dan, I am shredding a copy of my email now.
