There is a good 10U tournament in the making.....

by TD ROCK » Mon May 03, 2010 11:28 am

I want to thank all teams and there families to play at our complex this past weekend.

Team Mizuno helped us greatly to get this tournament off the ground. They did alot of work in the back ground that made this tournament run so well. This was Team Mizuno event and we just ran it for them. NRGSL board members worked the fields and concession stand and our President/TD was out there for every minute of it making sure everthing was taken care of.

On another note we are also very proud of our umpire group. This group is let by Oscar Ross. Oscar suffered a Heart attack tuesday. Oscar and his family still organized all the umpires for this tournament and 2 others this past weekend. He even umpired one game Saturday when one of his umpires got stuck. Oscar is truely dedicated to this game.

Mizuno99 - did have ONE player from Anderson Express 99 - the remainder of our roster have been with us for a while now.

As far as this weekend, she was on our roster as a pickup player, but she is now on our roster as a permanent player.

Just wondering, is this the girl that throws 57mph ?

Well if it is her I can tell you she doesn't throw that fast, not from the games I saw her pitch. She's got some speed but it's not that fast, I say low 50's.

Now lets talk about the other stuff.. WHO CARES who Miz picked up they didnt win 1st 2nd or 3rd and last i checked it take 9 to play the game GEEZZ bunch a dam cry babies!!!! No disrespect Miz but you played and faired ok and i did see ur injured player HOPE SHE gets back on the fields soon....

The FIELDS come on the only water they got is when someone would spit.. Raked hell didnt even see a rake, and the outfield please that had so many ruts u had to wear a mask out there or get drilled in the face..

Umpires OMG some of them could not even call the operator if they wanted to.. I heard someone say there was a few being trained during play...

Ok other then that good job to all these teams these girls played some ball.... :ugeek:

Those were all good games.

I thought the OK Force - Cenla Heat game was a good one 6-5.

I also thought the Sneaky Cleats - Mizuno game was a good one 6-5.

There were a bunch of games that I didn't get to watch that I am sure were also great games.

Cobra's vs Kruzers
Cenla Heat vs Force
Cobra's vs Roughriders

All these games were 1 run games. The Cobra's vs Roughriders was a very good game. I only seen the last of it however I was told the Cobra's scored their 2 runs in the first inning and the Roughriders held them the entire game, however could only get 1 run across the plate. Both had very good defense's. Hopefully one day this tournament happens again.

This type of tournament needs to happen every weekend. If the TD's would start classifying their tournaments correctly and if the coaches would start classifying their teams correctly A vs B...then we'd get rid of this Open tournament where some teams don't belong playing in the same class. Congrats to the TD for this one...this is how it was meant to be played.

Maybe some other TD's can take notes and start doing it the right way (other then the non/dragging in between every game or rechalking).

Can anyone give game description on the championship game that actually saw it (not heard about it)....Oklahoma vs Humble Cobras. That was one game I wish I could have stayed to seen. Oklahoma was a force all weekend. Great all team!! Cobras have great defense. I was just wondering what kept the game 2 to 0. Details.....

Great Tournament Mizuno! No complaints.

Bombers Vs Heat was a good game ended 0-0 (Bomber pitcher was on fire this game)
Thunder Vs Cobras was a pretty close game with Cobra's winning 1-0
Blaze Vs. Mizuno was a good game with Mizuno recovering at the end 2-2

The Austin Stars from pool A lost all of their games, I believe Glory from pool B lost all theirs as well and D-bat from pool C had rough weekend as well.
