Side Arm Throw

by Lone Staarr » Thu Jan 11, 2018 1:33 pm

Have seen this at the college level a lot!!!

Can everyone please stop teaching ONLY the sidearm drop ball throw!!! There are many angles the ball needs to be thrown in.

We are getting the relay throw to home on about 3-5 bounces from the edge of the grass to home plate. Backhands from short or 2nd 2-3 bouncing to 1st.

Please everyone teach them how to create that 12-6 rotation and be able to go to that slot when needed. Teach all throwing angles as they get older but not just one way of throwing.. It looks like that are going to break their arm sometimes with that side arm throw...

Rant over...

09,

If she threw the ball close to 100 like this guy then she can throw from down under all she wants. :geek:

Haha! Agree. I also agree about the side arm throw. I have seen too many girls get arm injuries throwing like that....

Tommy John Surgery
=bad mechanics=
ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, simply put
"ligament replacement
in your elbow from crappy throwing mechanics"
