I do wish more tournaments were held with a similar foremat. Invite the top talent only in certain age groups. If you post A tourney's teams just won't sign up, but if you invite really good "B" teams that are "A" caliber it makes for very competitive matchups with a five pool game format that leads to the top teams from each bracket playing in a single elimination bracket.

IMO, I would like to see the other age groups do this across the state, I think it really tells you who the top teams are and it prepares all of the top teams for the national tourney's later in the year.

It occured to me that there are a number of Houston area teams invited to attend this tourney, and with only three spots remaining none have signed up for one of the most competitve tourney's to played in 10U in the state next year. Why is this? I thought the folks down south wanted some talk or wanted NTX to show them some love. It looks like the Mizuno Invitational is trying to show them some love, but they just don't seam to want to acknowledge it.

I do not see the Pnatomz on the list but I was contacted about it. I need to get together with the parents and see if they are able to make that trip and make sure it is isn't conflicting with any other major tournaments. I am surprised that the Cobra's have not committed, they may be one of the most talented teams from this area, but I did hear they may be having a bit of a shakeup. I should knowsomething by the second weekend of January.

Not sure why Cobras 99 haven't responded but I do know that there Coaches' father has been sick and passed away right before Christmas.

It looks like the cobras might have bigger plans in May.

Looks like this tourney is now full and a solid field of participants have signed up. I hope they consider raising the max team participation to 14 to add two more top teams. I would love to see the Sneaky Cleats and the Pearland Phantomz added, that is if those teams are even interested. This would make for a national caliber talent level tournament for sure.

Are their any other 10U teams in Texas or Houston area that might be planning a simular invitational only event? Just curious as I am sure a lot of teams are starting to put together their schedules for 2010.

I look forward to the Mizuno Invitational getting to watch and play against most of the top teams in the state.
