Skills Videos in Houston

by hit4power » Thu Jan 21, 2010 12:11 pm

This discussion started on the main board, but I thought I'd move over here since we're just talking about Houston. Per the prior thread, I volunteered to inquire as to whether a Cali outfit which has been recommended on HB would come to Houston to film girls here for skills videos.

I did make contact with the honchos at usatravelball and they indicated some willingness to come to Houston if we could line up 10-15 (or maybe a few more) girls that could be filmed on the same day at the same location. The cost would be a bit higher than their advertised price to defray the travel costs. Don't have an exact number on that, yet. An alternative they proposed would be to hire someone locally to shoot the film and then send to usatravelball for editing the individual videos. That's probably the lower cost option at the end of the day but results would depend on how well we executed the filming.

So, what do y'all want to do? Here are two proposals to consider;

1) Assuming enough interest, get usatravelball over here to do the work. Likely cost per girl $149 plus maybe $25-50 additional to cover travel

2) Hire someone locally to film then have usatravelball do the final edits. Cost $75 plus cost of videographer (I'm guessing $20-40 per girl)

Pls reply and let's discuss. BTW - I'm thinking the time to do this is sometime after spring break - weather more predictable, more daylight, and girls are in mid-season form.

Are you could just use someone local. I have seen some of the stuff that College Sports Exposure has done when we met them at the Stars Over Texas in Beaumont. I will post their link here if you are interested. I see no sense in flying someone halfway across the country to do a video if you can get good quality work done closer. Here is the link.

According to their website, they charge almost $500 just for the videotaping and editing.

I'm leaning more to trying to do it myself now after talking with a few people that have gone that route.
My daughter is perfect, she knows everything. Just ask her.

I am not trying to push College Sports Exposure (I don't work for them nor do I have any kind of relationship outside of a phone call about a video for my dd) at all. Their web site may not be updated because the price list he sent me has video and editing at $300. If you have 3 or more kids he will do it for $250.00. This price includes editing and 5 extra dvd's. I will send you the price list and sample video work he sent me if you would like. PM me you email and I will forward you the emails.

Good Luck
