Title: Dallas Tigers Coach and Tryout Announcement
Approved By: JEFF BAUGH

The Dallas Tigers are pleased to announce James Foust has been appointed head coach of the Dallas Tigers Gold. Coach Foust brings a tenured coaching career and a wealth of knowledge of the game in addition to the ability to elevate a player to the next level. Foust has coached and been a part of the softball community for a number of years - recently as assistant coach for the Flower Mound Rage 14U, Ft. Worth Batbusters 16U and the Dallas Tigers Gold in its inaugural season.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for me to take the next step in my coaching career," said Foust. "I am also very excited to lead these players into the next level of softball play."

The Dallas Tigers Gold finished a very successful season not only on the dirt, but with the recruitment and commitment of players at the collegiate level. While the Tigers are well known for their recruitment efforts in baseball, the softball program is gaining fast as evidenced with 6 of 7 commitments for the 2010 class.

Tiger tryouts will be hosted on 1/24/2010 for all teams 14U, 16U and 18U athletes. The Dallas Tigers is a collegiate oriented program focused on player development, college recruitment, and collegiate preparation. You must be serious about your long term goals with a desire to gain the understanding of what it takes to reach the next level of play. Perspective student athletes should contact the appropriate coach for your age bracket and/or level you wish to compete at.

DFW is a large metoplex. I don't think it is unfeasible for an organiztion to have two gold teams located in different counties to accommodate the large amount of talent in the area.

While it appreciated that you keep abreast of the softball world, for clarification, Segal is not coaching with the Dallas Tigers 18 Gold. The VTD posting was not accurate and should not have been posted, it hopeful that you will go after the VTD with the same vigor. So that this community is up to speed, I would that you follow up this post with the VTD posting that cancel the posted about Segal. James Foust is the head coach of the Dallas Tigers 18 Gold. Coach Foust is an outstanding coach with a robust coaching background.

For further clarification the Dallas Tigers do focus on recruiting efforts. Will all players go to D-1 schools, of course not? The Dallas Tigers provide players a strong base to market themselves at whatever level....even it in the job market. This not just about being a strong player on the dirt, but being a strong confident person on and off the dirt.

One more point, my daughter began her recruiting efforts in 8th grade. She was committed as a freshman and signed at the early point her could with a BIG D-1 and has never looked back. Marketing and Branding is the name of the game, working with a number of coaches D -1 and others, today coaches are targeting 2013’s – 2014’s and weeding through the countless contacts…..

WoW!!! I wonder if Segal woke up this morning and decided, " Hey I'm going to post on VTD today that I'm coaching the Dallas Tigers Gold!!" NOPE!! I don't think so!!!!! Seems like someone didn't tell some one all the details or changes, and or is doubting the capabilities of a robust coaching career. Hey wait a minute! Where did Coach Foust Head Coach a Fastpitch TEAM? Never heard of this guy???HMMM?? Does anyone know this coach????HMMM???

Thank you for your comments. There are a number of players and college coaches well aware of Coach Foust and his abilities and tenure. Just because you are not aware of him does not make his abilities or accomplishment any less. I suspect there are a number of standout coaches and players that you are not aware of or have interfaced with. That is the blessing of have a diverse softball community of coaches and players. I can say that all of his 2010 players are committed, with 2011's right behind them.

I do agree that Coach Segal likely did not just decide to make a post on the VTD, but can assure you that the posting did take with club approval. I am confident that you would agree since the posting went up and with minutes late the tryout was retracted.

I normally chose not to get involved in the “fray”, as most of the postings are nasty, hurtful and just plain uncalled for creating nothing be descent in the softball community. On this particular topic I thought it best to state the facts.

I would refer you to the website and the internet, which should answer your concerns.

Unless you have a player interested in playing for Coach Foust, I am not clear on the overarching concern. Parents and Players have a duty to locate the right coaching fit for them.

When presented in a respectful manner truth and non-truths do not have to hurt, it is all in the presentation.

softball8rules - I'd say you are best off to say nothing else....you think you are helping your case --and I honestly could care less about your case or the Dallas Tigers as I don't think they are "major players"-- but continuing to give these vague answers in an attempt to explain a big mistake or an attempt to deceive is certainly hurting not helping.

from what i've seen over the past few years, Sonny Farias and he coached together. Batbusters - Sonny, Avengers Gold - Sonny and Dallas Tigers Gold - Sonny. Now looks like Sonny has moved on the Mizuno.
