Can't we all just get along?

VTD
ASA

I know I'm beating a dead horse however this is absolutely amazing!!!

VTD= good website (most will agree)
ASA= terrible attempt of a recreation of the VTD. Its about the users.. and the website is not user friendly at all.

I hope all the associations that decided to go ASA will force ASA into modifying their website so that folks will actually use it. TD's look at the numbers of teams entered into your tournaments. There is a reason!!!

Last time I checked, VTD had a solid number of tourneys, but the posts on the BB are way down. The other states have virtually nothing. So, VTD is a Texas Thang and it will always be that. ASA is National and it continues to have alot of CA participation, and some of the Top teams in the USA. So if you play local in Tx, do VTD and pay your $35 team registration and $60 mandatory insurance.

Here we go again...

HomerASA93... busting our chops, hoping all will bend over once again for ASA. Whether VTD will always be a "Texas Thang" is debatable. What we know for sure is that 3 months ago, DFW was an ASA stronghold, almost 100%. Today? Ha! VTD baby! VTD tournaments are overflowing with teams while our ASA complexes are go away quietly, empty, sad

So the story goes Homer93...Kudos to ASA for past successes! However, not even an imbecile like you can argue that they're happy with current trends...

Down, Down, Down, Down...

BTW...VTD insurance is not mandatory, proof of (any) insurance is.

I've got my own laundry list of issues with ASA, problem is that if I take your post and replace VTD with AFA it's like we're on the twilight zone living through the same thing over and over. Yes ASA may be declining in Texas, maybe ASA needs new local leadership there(maybe new national leadership as well), but AFA is circling the drain after a good run and it's easier to assume that 5 years from now VTD will look more like AFA than ASA.

I think what has shown to be the pattern is that due to poor service ASA is supplanted regionally by other players who are more customer oriented (USSSA, AFA, PONY, NAFA, USFA, NFSA, NSA, ISA, Triple Crown) Now (VTD and Premeir) but no one has supplanted ASA Nationally in a sustained way because IMO the same thing that makes the new guys attractive regionally/locally makes them unattractive nationally. (i.e. USSSA is great if you live in Kansas City or Florida, tough to draw east coast/west coast teams in when you know Nationals isn't going to get rotated your way, PONY great on the east coast, same challenge in drawing west coast teams, why support when they aren't coming your way ever.) Maybe VTD and Premeir can break that chain.

I am not an ASA basher or a VTD basher, but I will say this. I have submitted tickets on ASA and made recommendations on how to improve there site; like the query you create when you go into a tournament and hit the back button shouldn't clear out your original query request. Also I have noticed that it seems like DAILY VTD is updating there website and making it more user friendly.

Sorry I failed to mention that I have been waiting on the ASA website to send me a "start up" email so that I can log on and reg. a team for tournaments.

2 different emails.. 3 and half weeks of waiting... still waiting. Have called my local JO commish and he was going to check into it and call back. That was 2 weeks ago... no phone call!!

Still waiting!!!

We all played ASA last year (in NTX) and there is nothing wrong with ASA, that I experienced personally...but their website STINX. Just pony up (or donkey up) and pay the extra $100 bucks a month and use VTD's site...oh wait, I guess that ship has sailed :x
