Bombers Results Please

Would love to hear about the tournament at all age levels. Is it single elimination because of the rain delay? I would love to hear some scores. Thanks

Everybody got one pool game yesterday with a single elimination tournament today. I do know that Storm Elite beat Ballaz, Bombers 96 beat Glory and I am pretty sure TPS won their game.

It was always going to be single elimination which I thought was wierd but TD said it has always been that way. Weather is beautiful today, a little cold and windy but nothing like yesterday and last night. Championship game slated for 6:30 this evening.

It was not single e two years ago. They may have changed it. With fixed matchups to benefit Bombers and their friends and the home town umpires, single e is torturous.

Yeah I don't remember it being single elim...long way to drive to get blown away by storm, change torney format and then have teams drop and b single elim...way to spend my spring break.

Let's not forget the tournament fee is $175 plus $75 plus $30 a game so over a $150 a game is a little steep in my view. I hope they are offering some refunds per VTD rules.

From the Bomber tournament page:

This tournament has become the Primary fundraiser for the Texas Bombers in their efforts to support the American Cancer Society "Relay for Life". The Bombers will donate $25 from every teams entry fee that participates in the 2010 Bomber Shootout! Along with monies raised by every Bomber player , that money will be donated to this worthy cause! Over the last two years over $25,000 has been donated to to this fine organization that is so vital to the efforts of fighting this deadly disease!

Maybe you should call the ACS and ask for your money back.

...and then of course...why did you sign up?

We signed up bc we hadn't played it before. I don't have an issue that the purpose is fundraising. But the bucket posters were not kidding about the field conditions holy crap...picture a cow pasture now put unkempt softball feilds in the middle and throw some port o pottys around for.good measure...yuk. No concessions, no covers and no space to set up camp or practice. I was not impressed. Btw with a 4 GG and single elim and pool games dropped from 3 to 1 a lot of teams should receive partial refunds.

You are right monkey. Besides it says only $25 per team is going to ACS. They can still get that and give partial refunds. I heard the fields were awful !
