Congrats to Glory Adkins '99

by left4dead » Mon Jun 21, 2010 8:06 am

Congratulations to the Glory Adkins '99 for winning in NRH this past weekend!

Great job 2000 Rip, Texas Glory 99's and Maximum Destruction for winning your Pools and making it to bracket play

TD and crew did a great job. Was quick to respond on water containers, kept the fields watered down and raked.

And the blues we had call our games did a great job.

Great job ladies!

(Disclaimer: not a parent on any of these teams).. lol

Let me say first yes I am a parent that has been around select tornaments for a number of years. Would like to also say I have attended many tournaments at North Richland Hills also. From a spectators point, I would have to say this tournament was very poorly run. Starting with the Umpires, way to many mistakes made. My daughter and I stayed to watch two very good teams play, Glory and Threat Satuday night. When the ump calls fall ball on a ball that hits third base and so hard it nearly knocks the base out of the ground and you call it FOUL BALL! Thats not good! That is just one example, ther were many more. The Umps at this tournament were very bad and very inconsitent from field to field. I will say it was the worst I have ever seen. The fileds were never marked at all after the very first games. Our team only played 6 games, but we left very disappointed with this tournament. Congratulations to Glory, Rip, and Glory and all the other teams that played.

Either a newbie or wielding an ax. The umps at NRH/Keller/Southlake aren't perfect...but far, far from what you describe. Tell me...what are your other complaints?..was the water in the dugouts wet? Did the toilets flush? Did they (the toilets) accommodate your turds?

I agree the umps had many questionable calls this weekend, but with the temperature over 101 degrees...and in the middle of the day, nobody is perfect. Although there were questionable calls they are still better then most areas in DFW

Wasn't there, but could NOT have been worse than McKinney.

Congrats to all the teams, we were in Pool A and all games were very competitive. I will go on record and say the umpires were among the worst I have seen, don't make excuses for them. The mother/daughter combo tops the list as the worst and they both need to be removed.

Worst call of the weekend: Girl sitting on home plate, catcher tags her, "daughter" rules OUT
Coach I'd want my daughter to play for: DBat
Coach I'd never let my daughter play for: Shock
Hottest mom: 2000 RIP (dark brown hair, short)

I would also like to congratulate the teams that placed in the tournament. Personally, I felt that it was very well run. It is very difficult to stay on schedule AND keep the fields properly maintained and lined, and I believe most coaches would prefer to stay on schedule. We were in a very tough Pool A, and although we were winless, I felt that we competed well and all of the games could have gone either way. I would not have changed our pool just to get more wins or hardware, as we prefer to play the best competition that we can as often as possible. Although some of the aforementioned umpire calls went against us, and although I was embarrassingly vehement in my protest of the calls, I do not blame the umps for any of our lack of success. They are humans and subject to human error. I do not take their calls personally, nor do I believe that they are bad umpires. I appreciate that the umpires and their calls are a part of the game, and I appreciate their hard work, even when my view disagrees with theirs at times.
