Anybody heard of this tournament?

The complex is nice. The layout of the complex is great with a lot of shade and great seating. The Turf is the original style turf. It is not great. All of the rest of the things that the TD said about the area are very true. This was the location of AFA 18G nationals the past few years. AFA has since changed names to ( Long story) NAFA and moved their 18G National about 30 minutes up the road to a park that is very nice.

I'm from Beaumont! From what we hear, this is the same guy that was running all the "showcases" ;) under the Royal Purple name in the Houston area a few years back! I don't think those were very sucessful as far as college coaches showing up......word is he wore out his welcome in Houston, and is now trying to move into our area......I know he attempted to host a tournament earlier in the year.......it didn't make!

Do your own research.......this is just what "I" have heard!

Everything about the Park is correct.......very nice and convient.......4 of the fields have been resurfaced (with the good turf)! The others aren't BAD.....just not nearly as nice as the newly resurfaced ones! Great place to host a tournament, we hosted there last weekend!

They are like baseball fields.......green turf w/ cut outs around the bases - home plate - and pitching circle!

These are pretty good to play on .You will not get rained out,as long as they cover the Cut Outs for the bases.
The negative is a routine grounder for an out ,bounces 2x as fast turning a single into a double, the transfer from the turf to grass is cool but hard on the base runners on the infield .Your going from a dirt box to running on astro turf to dirt then 2nd seems pretty sandy back to turf sandy 3rd you catch the drift..Once you get used to it it's great but ankle sprains are really common .
