Best of the Southwest Showcase
March 19, 2011 By admin
Thursday, June 16th
The University of Texas at Dallas
Presented by Fastpitch Scouting Report LLC
An exciting new event is headed to the Dallas/Fort Worth area on Thursday, June 16 2011. The “Best of the Southwest Showcase.” Fastpitch Scouting Report will be bringing together 60 of the best unsigned players in the Southwest region in a unique showcase event unlike anything you have ever seen before. First, the exciting format.
Event Information
- This is an individual, invite only player showcase. Teams are not accepted into this event. The 60-spots will go to the 60-top players in the Southwest region through our selection process (read more below), regardless of your travel ball affiliations.
- Limited to 60 players across the Southwest region. This exclusive opportunity is a unique way to communicate your ability to college coaches as a participant to this event.
- Players will be placed on 4-teams, NAIA and NJCAA coaches will be serving as the coaching staff for the event.
- Players will workout in a batting practice and defensive session prior to the start of games from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Pitchers and catchers will throw bullpens during the defensive portion of the event. Players will have an opportunity to showcase their talent in a workout situation and then in a game situation.
- Each team plays 2-games. Games at 2:00 , 4:00 , 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
- Each game will be professionally filmed and edited in High Definition and made available to any college coach not in attendance for this exclusive event. Your performance at this event will be available to virtually any college coach in the nation.
- Every player will be dressed alike, wearing a Best of the Southwest uniform top provided to you by Fastpitch Scouting Report LLC. It’s time to have coaches look at who is inside the uniform, not the uniform your wearing to determine your status as a prospect.
Selection Process
- There will be 2 rounds in the selection process.
- The first group of invitations will be through College Coach Recommendations. This process will be from March 21-April 4.
- The second group of invitations will be through open tryouts held in April in May. Tryout dates and locations will be announced on Tuesday, April 5th.
- College Coaches will be receiving their nomination ballots on Monday, March 21st. Priority given to programs in the Southwest region who will be attending this event. Many coaches will suggest players already on their watch list. Players should e-mail college coaches asking for a personal recommendation to this event and refer college coaches to the online nomination form at: http://fastpitchscoutingreport.com/?p=777
