ASA Qualifiers

Anyone know the dates of the ASA qualiifiers for Gold, 16u, 14u, etc.? I thought they voted on this back in November. ASA Gold's website lists a couple, but nothing on Texas ASA website, ASA main site, etc. Haven't seen anything on Spysoftball either. Why can't ASA get this stuff posted? Don't they know this is screwing with people's vacations, summer camps, showcases, etc.

The Texas ASA meeting was schedule September 13, 2008, unfortunatety Galveston got double booked so they had to reschedule the meeting. (Hurricane Ike)

Thanks. Typical. Terrible what happened to Galveston, but you'ld think Texas ASA could reschedule a meeting in less than four months. What about Gold? When and where are the Southern Qualifiers? Tulsa is one, but when; and where and when is the other?

Looked at the Gold website before I posted. The point is that they voted on sites back in November and still no date for Tulsa and no location or date for the second Southern Territory Qualifier. Of course, the Southern Territory isn't the only one. Just wonderinig what is taking ASA so long to post dates, locations, etc.

They always take forever to release the Qualifier Locations and dates.

I am hearing that the other Southern Territory Qualifier is more then likely going to be in Florida or Georgia this year. I know Tulsa is waiting to cordinate the date. My guess is the following:

June 5-7 at least 1 of the Southern Territory Qualifiers will be this weekend.
June 12-14 (Tulsa WILL NOT be this date due to Oklahoma All State Games)
June 19-21 if the Qualifier held in SE takes the 5th-7th, Tulsa will probably be this weekend.

I heard one of the Southern Qualifiers was going to North Carolina.

Why can't Tulsa go ahead and choose its date since they seem to already know they are hosting a qualifier.

ASA needs to get its act in gear. You have to sign up for college showcase events a year in advance, of which most are non-refundable after accepted, but ASA jerks around and waits forever.

No one is going anywhere, but this clearly is why people would prefer an organizaton like Triple Crown, NSA, PONY, USFA, or any of the others that are responsive to their constituents. Sorry, just needed to rant this morning.

6/12-14 Marietta, GA
6/19-21 Tulsa, OK
