Who are the Top HS teams in Texas?

by Brooke's Dad » Mon Jan 28, 2008 10:49 pm

There are a lot of great teams playing HS ball in the State of Texas.

I am just looking for a few opinions on which teams to be on the lookout this coming season...

Here are some of the canidates (and how they finished last year).

- Garland - 5A State Champions

- Ft Bend Elkins - District Champs / Regional Quarterfinalist

- Leander Vista Ridge - District Champs / Regional Finalist

- The Woodlands - District Champs / Regional Quarterfinalist

- Bryan - District Champs / Regional Finalist

- A&M Consolidated - Bi-District

- St. Agnes - District Champs / State Finalist

- San Antonio Clark - Bi-District

- San Antonio Reagan - Bi-District

I am sure I am missing a bunch of GREAT teams.... and I am NOT saying if you didnt make "my list" your team is no good.... just some good teams and I hope we can have a (somewhat) civil discussion on some great teams!
When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!

In this area, I would say:
Garland
Marcus
Keller
Northwest (don't know this year since B. Barnhill is gone)
McKinney North (4A)
Denton Ryan (4A)

Correction for you.

The Woodlands placed 2nd behind Magnolia last year in District play.
Magnolia only has 2 seniors back this year, but still looks pretty strong.

Magnolia Fan

Correction for you - :D :D

The Woodlands was the 15-5A District Champs.

The Woodlands beat Magnolia for the District Championship @ Magnolia last year.

The Woodlands pitched Jordan Johnson
Magnolia pitched Katie Campbell (Adair)

OK.... I stand corrected. Got mixed up with Volleyball.
The Woodlands pitcher was outstanding in that game. I was there, you'd think I would remember.
Both teams ought to be very competitive this year again.

Thanks

It comes with age. The easy way to tell is volleyballs are white. ;)

I would say that Flower Mound would be in the mix some where.

Flower Mound made to the Area playoffs last year - right?

Who do they have on their schedule / in district?

I believe it is Flower Mound Marcus, that 3BSnag referenced earlier. They are listed #3 in the 5A State preseason rankings. With Garland #1, and Katy #2.
