If your going to hold a National Qualifier than you should expect to have 30+ teams, and should have enough fields to accommodate that many teams. I think that it is ridiculous to email coaches three days before tournament to tell them that you are now changing the format of the tournament due to field reservations. If this is what you have to do then you then need to take into account that many teams are driving in and have already made hotel and travel arrangements to be there Sat. mourning not Friday night. Beings we had the option to opt out of the Friday night pool games from the very moment this tournament was posted months ago. A lot of the teams participating in this tournament have young ladies still in school with finals on the last day. Surely the tournament director is smart enough to figure these things out before scheduling a team to play at 7 p m Friday knowing they cannot make that time, and has been notified of that, through email, phone messages and the tournament entry form, with NO response back from him. This behavior is un-acceptable in my view, and I will certainly be reporting these actions to the main ASA governing body.

All they care about is money, they have no reguard for you or the girls. Even the UIL scheduled the state tournament finals on the summer SAT date. It's just unreal! These TD's in Texas make way too much money. Their associations are nothing but bloodsuckers and of course ASA, USSSA , USFA are all gouging the DD's college fund.

And another thing! Why doesn't Suzie's new $300 bat have the same pop as last year's $300 bat?

Actually most tournaments are very accomodating. The OP was referring to qualifiers which, once they get your check, fill out a bracket with little consideration to travel for out of town teams. I have seen too many times where out of town teams get Friday night games while local teams have late Saturday morning games.

I never said that the TD's make money, all likely lose money out of their pocket, nor did I accuse any association of gouging my DD's college fund. I gouge my DD's college fund quite well on my own. However, the location of these tournaments must be put out for bid to generate the most $$ or towns like Midland, Wichita Falls or "End of the Earth with a softball complex, USA" would never host a tournament. If they gave any consideration to travel expense for teams they would put the tournaments in areas that had the most teams and rotate the sites yearly. When you put a qualifier in remote areas 90 - 99% of the teams have to hit the road, put them in Austin, DFW, Houston or San Antonio and a healthy % of teams do not travel.

As for the bat, I'll do what I would do with any product I use. If it isn't any good I'll switch manufacturers, if I try all of the bats made and none of them have any "pop" I'll come to the realization that my DD can't hit.

I would like to thank the TD for making the time adjustments to allow us to be able to play without forfeiting our first game. I would also like to thank Deer Park TPS, GT Shockers and Texas Peppers for their willingness to change their game times to allow us this opportunity. Any predictions, now that the dust has settled....oops no brackets...anyone have the brackets yet?

Looks like the best from the state DFW vs Houston and a couple of Centex teams. I am surprised not more teams from Centex.
