New team forming Texas Lite

by sbmom96 » Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:22 am

Has anyone heard anything about a new team called Texas Lite? It is a new 14 U team being coached by Dwayne Johnson from California. Any feedback on the coach?? Thanks!

Coach from Cali teaching 14u. I hear he is OG realy knows the game so if your DD is a true softball player hopefuly she can hang. Better yet just call the coach and ask him what you want to know get it straight from the source before you get told wrong. ;)

Turns out the Texas Lite 18 "Gold" team was terrible this year. The 14U team probably wont be much better without help. My advice = do your research and DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE! (ASK someone who has played for him or that knows his style...) Will this team play out of Softball/Baseball USA?

Will the 18 Gold be having open tryouts as well? When will this be held? Is there enough talent still out there to put a strong team together?

FYI - I think they will play out of Spring/Klein (Collins Park)

The coach of the team teaches the mechanics of the game very well. He didn't have any players this year, and it showed on the field. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken.......well you know the rest. They were horrible.

The coach is very hard on the kids physically. He works them hard (too hard IMO), but he teaches the game as well as anyone I have seen. I do not know how he does in game situations as I have only seen them practice, and I watched part of one game of theirs in a tournament when we weren't playing, so I do not have an informed opinion.

With the recent mass dispersal of talent at the 14U level...
