Understanding Texas...

by lvtwft » Tue Aug 04, 2009 2:16 pm

I have a few questions to understand your nice but extremely large state.

What part of the state are the more prominet teams from? (Fusion=North etc..)

What are the bigger tourneys you all have to offer??

What affiliation do most the team partake in?(USSSA,NSA,ASA etc)

I appreciate all and any info.
Thank you...

There are good teams all over the North, South and Central of the State. Due to population I would have to say the DFW and Houston areas have the most quality teams but Central Tx has some good ones too no doubt, just fewer of them.
Tourneys: Bomber in central Tx is good (big), Ronald McDonald in Oct/Nov and Katy Christmas Classic I would have to say are the 3 biggest in central and south, not sure about North other than a couple of showcases similar to the Ronald McDonald. Thing is there are tourneys every weekend but most are much smaller than those listed above. Friendly's are beginning to pop up here and there and thankfully Round Robins are becoming the norm for the older age groups.
Affilation varies but ASA is certainely King here while USFA comes in second. USSSA, NSA, IFA, etc. are pretty much non-existent until it comes time for some teams to decide where to go for Nationals.
My daughter is perfect, she knows everything. Just ask her.
