Really simple answers:

1. One of them will TELL you how great he is even if he lives in Georgia. Why isn't it named Georgia Glory? He'll also TELL you how great everything is and about all his accomplishments from '07. Ask him what his club did this last year other than hype the boards and kept changing their plans or goals whatever you want to call the constant adjustsment that were made to continue to make excuses for their poor performance.

2. The other guys Glory teams SHOW the results. There is still one team playing at GOLD Nationals. 2 Gold teams qualified and placed very well at GOLD Nationals. (The other guys team, never qualified).

Ask one to tell you the truth and prove the results. The other one quietly goes about his business without TELLING everyone what he wants them to hear!

You decide... The REAL Glory or the Glory that is still trying to hang on to something he gave up when he moved to GA and now has to post negative comments to try and keep a name that means nothing if you don't have the results to show for it.

Why has everyone been so quiet on the boards about a guy who has continued to over sell, over promise, talk way too much crap on the boards and on the other Glory?

Go back to GA where you live and go promise all of those parents things you can't deliver with out the REAL Glory to help you coach! Your current head coach is worthless, unproven, never accomplished anything and still can't produce the results. He's just there to protect his overrated DD.

It's very easy! Texas Glory Shelton both because of the man behind the name (Kevin is a real stand-up guy) and the results.

Shelton is still playing the weekend at Gold Nationals while Adkins group didn't even come close to making it to Gold Nationals. That's not to mention that the Shelton side sent 2 teams to gold nationals. It's very obvious where all the talent and leadership lies.

Both are good. Why not take your dd to both tryouts? (I didn't look they might be at same time.) Let her decide. What I mean is, which team is a better fit for her. I prefer Adkins, but I think Shelton is good too. An offer from either one is a compliment.

Adkins was the founder of Glory, turned it over to Shelton after his job took him to Georgia. Shelton has had some success continuing in Adkin's footsteps. Shelton is sending some kids to D1, but has some catching up to do. Adkins was sending kids to D1 schools long before Shelton showed up.

Summary: Both have egos as large as Texas. Both will replace your DD is a New York second if something better happens their way. There are other programs in North Texas that will help your daughter develop without all the drama.

Shelton still playing in OKC??? Pffft! Not for long...

We'll check out some tryouts in the next weeks or so...but will pass on both of these.

I would pick Glory Shelton.

Also how can a organization that claims to be one of if not the best in N Texas be holding tryouts on the same weekend Gold Nationals will be decided. I thought that was something that all these so called Gold teams that know they will never qualify for a National tournament did. Maybe that is what Adkins has become.

you need to find out for yourself which is a better fit for your daughter only you and your dd can decide that. There are haters on both sides of the fence I do belive sheltons side has the better talent but will you get playing time with all that talent on one team?. How many do each carry on the roster?, only you and your dd can decide where you fit the best and not pay to much attention to what you hear on the bucket. :)

Gold:
Shelton had two teams qualify....Adkins did not have one (although he gauranteed it)

16U:
Naudin (Shelton side) went further than any other NT team and college coaches were raving about the young players (2013s) that made up the roster.

That's your pipeline age group to college.

More importantly concerning recruiting. With the news of a new "GOLD Premier" that starts in 2010, you might consider finding out which North Texas team is in that group.

The good news is that Adkins might now be able to qualify for ASA Gold Nationals since the top teams will no longer be playing in the qualifiers.

At the end of the 2010 season, everyone will finally be able to see who has the respect of the top programs in the country and who the pretenders are.

Finally...an invitational that separates the true Gold teams. ASA will always get 64 teams but their ego and the fact that it is all about the money, has forced the Gold teams to create a more competitive plan that will also help the top recruits.

Where do you want your DD to play now?
