So Cal A's 0 1 0 0 1 4=6-11-1
Grapettes 0 0 0 0 0 0 =0-2-0

Delanie Gourley allowed only 4 baserunners and Jess Plaza threw 2 of them out at 2nd. It remained a tight game until the A's broke it open in the 6th. Tautalafua, Snaer and Mo Mercado had consecutive singles to lead off the 2nd and take the lead. They doubled that lead in the 5th on singles by M. Mercado and Plaza a sacrifice and a ground out. Danica Mercado and Brook Vines led off the 6th with infield hits and with 2 outs Snaer and M. Mercado blasted back-to-back HRs. The Mercado sisters ended up 5-6. Tautalafua was 1-1 with 2 BBs and Snaer and Plaza were each 2-3.

So Cal A's 4 0 0 2 0 2=8-9-1
SD Legacy 0 0 0 0 0 1=1-6-1

THe A's got all the runs they needed in the 1st and Maddie Schreyer never looked like giving up the lead despite 4 walks and a hit batter. D.Mercado led off the game with a single and with 2 outs stole 2nd. Snaer and M.Mercado followed with RBI singles and after a walk to Plaza Taylor Koenig's single drove in 2 more. Legacy got 2 runners on base in the 2nd with 0 outs, in the 3rd with 1 out and in the 4th and 5th with 2 outs but could never get the big hit. Megan Geer led off the 4th with a double and Koenig walked with 1 out. Faith Canfield provide an RBI_single and the 2nd run scored on the center fielder's error. In the 6th M.Mercado led off with a walk and Geer followed with an infield hit. With 1 out Koenig singled in 1 run and the 2nd run scored on Canfield's ground out. Legacy put together 3 of their 6 hits in the 6th to avoid the shutout. Geer and Koenig were each 2-2 with a walk and Canfield was 2-3.

Minor's Gold 0 1 2 0 0 0=3-5-1
So Cal A's 0 0 2 0 0 1=3-6-1

Minor's Gold gave the A's all they wanted and it took some last second heroics by Jess Plaza and some stupid defensive play by MG to salvage a tie. Selene Pola gave up 4 hits and 2 walks in 3 innings of work before Gourley restored order in the final 3 frames. MG scored in the 2nd on a single, ground out and single, Pola struck out the 1st 2 hitters in the 3rd before loading the bases on a single and 2 walks. A double brought in 2 before the 3rd out was recorded at the plate. Smithson-Willett and Tautalafua singled in the 1st but couldn't be advanced. D.Mercado led off the 3rd with a single and Smithson-Willett followed with a HR. Both teams put a runner on second with 1 out in the 5th but couldn't get them in. One inning later came the improbable ending. With maybe a minute before time would run out Plaza singled to center. I don't know what the centerfielder was thinking but she overran the ball and Plaza was off to the races. She rounded 2nd and picked up speed as she headed for 3rd. Normally they would not have sent her but the game was going to be over anyway. The throw was there in plenty of time as she slid in. In about 5 seconds the ump made the call, "Out! Safe! Ball game!" The catcher was unable to hold onto the ball and the A's celebrated as if they had won. D.Mercado went 2-3, Smithson-Willett 2-2 and Plaza 2-2 with a walk.

Jets 0 0 0 2 0 0=2-6-0
Sorcerer 0 0 0 0 0 1 =1-3-1

Sorcerer never could get going on offense, leaving 7 on base in the 1st 5 innings. Grauer dominated for 3 but Hawkins immediately ran into trouble in the 4th. After giving up a HR she walked 2 and gave up an RBI-single to the 9 hitter. The Jets threatened to extend the lead in the 6th, putting runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out but failed to get them home. Sorcerer made a game effort in the bottom of the 6th. Maurice walked, stole 2nd and went to 3rd on a Willis single, Molina drove in the run with a ground out but that's as close as they got. Sorcerer received 6 walks but only once were able to take advantage.

SoCal A's 1 1 0 2 0 3=7-10-0
SoCal Breakers 0 0 0 0 3 1=4-6-0

The A's were coasting to apparent victory when the Breakers made it interesting in the 5th. They then managed to shoot themselves in the foot with 4 walks in the 6th. Danica Mercado began her 4-4 day with an IF single was sacrificed to 2nd and came home on Snaer's single. Megan Geer led off with a HR in the 2nd to double the lead. When D.Mercado led off the 3rd with a double and Vines walked it looked like the A's would blow it open but the next 3 hitters went out in order. They were more efficient in the 4th. Geer singled and Plaza walked. They were bunted over and a run came home on a Koenig groundout. Munro singled to drive in a run and a D.Mercado single and HBP reloaded the bases but they left them there. Maddie Schreyer had been sailing along, allowing 1 hit in 4 innings but a leadoff double, sac bunt and sac fly got the breakers on the board. Three singles in a row followed and suddenly it was 4-3. A Plaza walk, an IF single by Smithson-Willett and walk to Koenig loaded the bases in the 6th with 0 outs. Munro walked to force in a run and D.Mercado singled to drive in another. They finally recorded their 1st out on a force at the plate before Tautalafua walked to force in the final run. Snaer hit into a double rally to stop the bleeding. When Schreyer gave up a leadoff single she was replaced by Pola but she walked both hitters she faced. Schreyer came back in to retire all 3 batters she faced though a run scored on a groundout.

Firecrackers 0 3 0 1=4-9-0
Velocity 0 0 0 0=0-3-1

Fresh from their return from New York the Firecrackers rested most of their starters but still had plenty enough to handle Velocity. Velocity loaded the bases in the 1st on 2 walks and a hit batter but couldn't get the big hit. Conversely the Firecrackers had 3 runs in the 2nd before they made an out. Tina Iosefa led off with a HR, Casey Africano singled and Tricia Parks also homered. Parks got into trouble again in the 3rd giving up 3 singles but got out of it with a double play. Gonzales led off the 4th with a double, Africano followed with a single and the run scored when the CF misplayed the ball. Africano and Lauren Lindvall were both 2-2.

CA Cruisers 0 0 0 0 0 0=0-2-3
SoCal A's 3 0 1 0 3 x=7-11-0

wHEN YOU HAVE MORE ERRORS THAN HITS IT'S GOING TO BE HARD TO WIN AND SO IT PROVED FOR THE CRUISERS. The Cruisers had a chance to get on top in the 1st but ended up leaving the bases loaded. Vines singled with 1 out for the A's, stole 2nd and went to 3rd on a bad throw. Snaer doubled her in and Mo Mercado hit a 2-run HR. Gourley then settled down and retired 10 batters in a row. The A's got a HR from Snaer in the 3rd and singles by Geer, Plaza and Tautalafua in the 4th but Geer was called out for leaving early and the rally sputterd. They did better in the 5th. D.Mercado singled and Vines reached on an error. Snaer drove in a run on a fielder's choice and Canfield singled in 2. Jasmine Smithson-Willet pitched the last 2 innings allowing a single and walk in the 6th gut getting out of trouble with a double play.

Firecrackers 3 6 3=12-15-1
CA Cruisers 0 0 0=0-1-1

If we are to compare the 2 teams' performance against the Cruisers, the Firecrackers are clearly ahead of the A's but at this level things are seldom so simple. Michelle Floyd and Sammy Cordova combined on the shutout and the FC offense started strong and never let up. After Bravo and Iosefa had singled in the 1st, Costa singled in a run and a second was wild pitched home. Africano doubled and Secaira recorded an RBI-single. Two of the 1st inning outs were recorded on the bases. Bravo doubled in 2 runs in the 2nd and Iosefa doubled in 3 more. The 6th run came on a Costa single. Costa, Parks and Secaira all had RBI singles in the 3rd. Threwe of the 1st 4 hitters (Bravo, Iosefa, Costa) went 3-3 as did Secaira. Lauren Lindvall was 2-2.
