G, you have an unfortunate penchant for avoiding meaningful discourse about the policies of the party you support (or actions of the politicians therein) by flippantly referencing the policies/actions of those on the right. I understand the allure of that strategy, since defending liberal policies on their merits is not an enviable task, but it's fallacious, obfuscatory, and entirely unhelpful.

As for how Obama got into Columbia and HLS, I can answer that very easily. He benefited from huge considerational advantages by virtue of the color of his skin, and if his personal finances were an issue both of those schools opened up their prodigious wallets and made that issue go away. Just like they do for any black or Hispanic candidate who shows the slightest bit of promise that he/she can survive (not thrive) in those academic environs.

er ... uh ... OK ... I was just making a joke about Obama, Hillary and McCain in response to a post ... but when challenged about what my McCain joke was referencing, I replied ... And in support of McCains patriotism ... When questioned again I googled an answer ...

You have the unforunate penchant for thinking I'm deeper than I actually am ... So no, I don't like much of what I see happening now, but seldom do ... not really a ground breaking stance, but that is it ... The only President I ever liked was Reagan ... And I know you will say otherwise and that's fine, but I do not support any party ... I support canidates based on who I think will screw things up the least ... Sometimes those canidates are more conservative than I like and sometimes they are more liberal than I like ... Sometimes they've ( hopefully ) inhaled !

Most people in power are idiots. The big problem for me with Mc pow was his running mate. I would have sexual encounters with her, but I am a guy and enough beer in me I think I might have fun with Skarp...

All people with that power will do things others find idiotic. Good thing we live in the good Ole USA, where we can say things like that or this.

My big problem with McCain is McCain. Palin is no genius, but you don't have to be a genius if you are governed by correct principles. If you aren't governed by correct principles you're going to screw things up no matter how "smart" you are.

We are talking about politics here. Think it is a recruiting tool for either party to make sure your principles are on a sliding scale. No more token white or black people or women or idiots wait that last one might be hard to come by. Cheating is morally OK, doing drugs is too, Lying to Congress/the people of the country is common place also. We give a pass on those behaviors for the "leadership elite". Morality is not on the Job app anymore. Both parties are lost in OZ and should put down the magic mushrooms( or save some for me )
Hell we should become a 3rd world country, and make fastpitch the only sport that is played. Have tigers as pets, and when I am hungry I will eat it or have it eat someone else and take their food. Insanity breeds insanity....(besides that fstpitch remark)

Me too ... ( being a Rockman from South Central VA. )... Lowes, Walmarts, Home Depot and the wholesale nurseries visions of granduer in doing business with them caused us re-invent ourselves about 5 years ago ... still grow and sell produce, but ornamentals are history ... unless or until we have to re-invent again ...

Re-inventing is a good thing. If only the automakers and unions would re-invent... perhaps a few more of them would still have their jobs.
