There was a report about this on GMA today. There was another "balcony fatality" in the same town just 2 weeks earlier at a different hotel. Underage drinking is a scary thing.

I know it is easy to say, but my kid wouldn't have been there, at least not with my blessing. If he had went without permission, some changes would have been made at home, when he got back.

Unless this young man had money of his own, mom and dad had to pay for this trip.

What were the parents thinking? Everyone knows what goes on at spring break.

It would be interesting to know how much this young man was drinking in H.S. and who knew it.

Don't be surprised if a dad actually bought the beer for this trip.

This happened at 6:30pm in the evening, and with 4 adult chaperones on the trip. How in the world did this kid get drunk by early evening and where the hell were the adults?

BTW...tragic story...and happens all too often at frat house high rises all over our colleges and universities. AND, let's don't even get started with how many of these young people destroy their lives behind the wheel of a car, stoned and/or drunk!

In this day and age, the dangers of drinking have been repeated to kids ad nauseum by the time they are seniors in high school. He and his family clearly ignored those admonitions, probably on innumerable occasions, and he paid the ultimate price for it.

I'm not judging...there but for the grace of God go I....but I'm also not particularly moved by this event. I'm just thankful that it wasn't someone else who had to die because of his bad choices.
