I predict that Jim Joyce & Galarraga will be on the cover of SI next week ... I do feel sorry for both ... But in the long run this cements their names in the record books with an asterix alongside ... It will be the answer in many a sports trivia quiz long after their careers have waned ...

You're right, there have been two other perfect games this season and I couldn't name the pitchers. Everyone will remember Galarraga's "non" perfect game, but most importantly the respect and class he showed towards the game by his mature reaction to the situation.

Well ... it certainly serves as a reminder of how to take the high road ... and Joyce saying that if he hadn't worked the game on the following day he wouldn't be able to face himself speaks volumes ... most good Umpires hope that you don't even notice they were at the game ...
