It seems that there is alot on the internet about this " Tale of Two houses " ... It appears that at the time that this story started circulating ( early to mid 2000's ) that the numbers were correct ... The Gore supporters seem to want to offset the numbers by stating that the power company that the Gores get their service from uses green energy ... in any event, although they keep home offices, it does seem that for a residence, they use a sh*t load of power ... Since the story, the Gores have made imrovements to their power consumption ... but not to the extent that the Bush's have with the geo-thermal ... here are two links, one from the green side and one from Fox ...

GWB promoted domestic energy production. Al Gore promotes us living without energy. The Bush admin. was throughly hammered for bringing major domestic energy producers into the White House and asking how America could produce more. Al Gore was given an Oscar for producing a movie the British court system has called a falsehood.


I have seen many more wind farms going up in my part of the country in the last 6-8 years than I ever did during the Clinton-Gore admin. I dont know if they are subsidised or not, but they are there. I cant cite a number by how much, but natural gas production is way up in the last 6-8 years, a much cleaner form of fuel for both homes and power plants. Again I dont know if N.G. is being subsidised or if the increase is due to market forces.

Talk (and doculies) are cheap. Getting something done about a problem, although hard, is worth the effort.

That's because he is a fundamentally decent human being. Bad president on most counts, but a good man.

Did anyone else see the documentary film about GW's reelection campaign? It was told from the perspective of a young, liberal, female member of the press corp that traveled with him during the campaign, and contains an illustrative vignette. As she tells it, at one point she has just written a scathing and fairly personal attack on GW in her paper...something she admits is over the top for someone granted her degree of access...and she is fearful of reprisal by him. Not only that, other members of the press corp begin to distance themselves from her to avoid collateral damage. Bottom line, GW can freeze her out in a second, and wouldn't be blamed by anyone for doing so. Her career is in jeopardy.

So what does GW do? The next time he comes out to meet the press, he makes a point to stop and chat with her personally. He needles her about the article with self-deprecating humor, and make her and everyone else feel completely at ease. He consciously reaches out and extricates her from a difficult situation, even though she has just attacked him and essentially declared herself as his enemy. That was her analysis.

Can anyone picture Clinton (either one) or Obama doing the same? No way. They keep their lists and check them twice...or forward them to the FBI or IRS, as the case may be...

Liberals love to mouth the platitude that you can measure your own humanity and decency by how you treat your enemies. Well on that score GW was a saint. Libs...not so much.

Skarp did not say he was the one and only bad President ... ... In hindsight, most people see 20/20 ... And Joe, you have made your point repeatedly about Dubya's job being to protect the country post 9-11 ... there is much truth to that ... and we will never know if a different President would have done better to protect us in the days leading up to it or directly afterwards ... It was in fact a new ball game ... But, didn't Bush recieve a briefing over one month prior to 9-11 advising him that attack was imminent ? There is a world of info on-line and elsewhere that point to Dubya's shortcomings.

I was wondering what you base this on? Do you know for a fact that all Dems "keep their lists and check them twice ....or forward them to the FBI or IRS, as the case may be...."? Just trying to get some facts here.....but I do like that GWB made that reporter feel comfortable after writing a critical piece on his presidential abilities. How is the economy doing out your way ? ... Here it appears, I hope ( knocking vigorously on wood ), that the worst is behind us ... when the economy recovers, most economists believe it will be long slow going ... but WHEN it does recover, will you give Obama an 'atta boy' ? ( providing of course that it does recover during his administration )

I gave Obama credit when he called Kanye West a jackass...even defended him against folks who called that "unpresidential."

And I'll give Clinton credit right now for recognizing that his own utopian visions were out of step with mainstream opinion, and for tacking back to the center. Yes, he did it because he's a power-grubbing political whore, but that's my kind of liberal. Much better than the principled liberal we currently have, who's hell bent on forcing socialism upon us whatever the cost.

I'm uniformly critical of Obama because his policies are uniformly abysmal. If he changes any of them, I'll give him credit for doing so.
