ATWT I guess you miss the point. John Wayne was a freaking movie star who did nothing to protect the freedom of this country. He sat his ass in Hollywood while other men and women fought and died for this country. Any quote from John Wayne is just more words coming out of his mouth like the words from a movie script.
There is a big difference between a real hero and someone who just plays one in a movie. Audie Murphy, Ted Williams and Roger Staubach were real famous men who lead by action not hiding behind words in California.

Hey I love John Wayne too ...but he is no American Hero.

Give credit where credit is due, not some actor wearing a cowboy hat or pretending to be a soldier of this great country.

I was a little punchy last night.

I did say John Wayne was an American Icon, not hero.

If you look at most of his movies, many have historical significance. He helped tell the American Western story that if it were not for his movies, the stories would be lost.

You just saw the small liberal side of me.
